  • Stylishly furnished and spacious, this beautiful vacation rental home is nestled on the center fairway of the exceptional Tahquitz Creek golf course boasting mountain and golf course views! Each bedroom features new deluxe memory foam mattresses, luxurious bedding, and 400 thread count sheets with flatscreen TVs equipped with Direct TV and DVR, so comfort will be no issue. The pool is wide-open to the South Western daylight exposure as the beautiful golf course meets up with the property line. The foreground highlights the San Jacinto Mountains and paints the blue valley sky with its remarkable peaks and ridges. The back patio is furnished with a dining table for six, and a nearby covered lounge area, making it an ideal place to enjoy meals with family or friends al fresco style. Once you've enjoyed watching the sunset behind the mountain ridge as the brilliant mixture of colors dissolve in the dark desert sky, cuddle up around the outdoor fire pit with a cup of hot cocoa or a glass of wine and share stories as the stars above come to life!

    Shooting Star is perfectly located for fun in the sun, stargazing by night, and taking in the stunning Palm Springs desert landscape! After playing a round of 18 or hiking on the nearby trails, head into downtown and experience the vibrant shops and restaurants that line Palm Canyon Drive! For a bit of fun away from the main drag of town, check out the beautiful Moorten Botanical Garden (four miles away) or take a ride on the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway!

    Things to Know
    -Outdoor music is prohibited. Music that is played indoors must not be heard outdoors. City ordinance states that any music that is audible from the property line is a violation. People noise during the day is permissible but must be measured and reasonable. Daytime is considered 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.
    -The utility deposit is $1,500 for 28 nights with $375 added for each additional week the guest stays.

    Pool and Spa heating can be purchased for an extra fee per day. Pricing can vary, depending on the size of the pool and spat can take up to 48 hours to heat. Please reach out prior to arrival if you are interested in adding this amenity.

Great home in PS!

We had a wonderful stay! It’s a very comfortable home with everything you need for a long weekend. Great location and quiet neighborhood. Really enjoyed the large dining room table to share family dinners and nice living room to watch the games and chat. Overall a very comfortable home!

Perfect, Peaceful Escape

We had a great stay over Spring Break! The weather was perfect, the pool was sparkling and clean, the beds are SO comfy, and it's located about 10 minutes from downtown PS. Also nearby is a Vons, right across the street, which was very convenient to replenish drinks and snacks. We can't wait to return!

Lovely House in Palm Springs

The house was nice and well furnished and the outside area was spacious and very well tended. The kitchen had everything we needed in it had all the amenities we need and a good sized pool.

Perfect Getaway

We LOVED staying here! It felt like a home away from home. There are plenty of personal touches, and the decor just screams vacay vibes! It's mid century modern, and Palm Springs perfection. It's close to downtown so we could shop and eat. It's also right on the golf course so not just a beautiful view, but you are ready to go 18 rounds right around the corner! We loved our stay and can't wait to go back!

Fun in P.S.!

This is the second time we have stayed at the Shooting Star. It's a comfortable home that is clean and well cared for. We enjoy the pool and ping pong table and the location is convenient to all activities in the surrounding areas. The owner is easy to work with. Would 100% recommend this property.

Most relaxing stay!

This mid-century designed beauty had all the amenities and perks we needed for a quick getaway. My family thoroughly enjoyed the pool and spa, ping-pong table, and board games. After a full day of lounging by the pool overlooking the gorgeous mountain views, we came inside and relaxed by the fireplace playing board games and catching up on some quality family time. Shooting Star was well maintained and fully stocked. We will not hesitate to book this property again if we come back to Palm Springs. ~ Serina

WOW! Spectacular

Would rent here again if you have a small group looking for a getaway and some peace. I would not reccomend for a larger group due to the limit on cars and outdoor music rules. Otherwise, it was affordable, had everything I needed, and super modern and clean! My only suggestion is please update the oven. So many towels, thank you!

Nice house with standard amenities

You get what you pay for. We needed a place to sleep for the weekend on a buys hiking vacation. The house had a bedroom for each of us, and the pool was an added bonus; however, we got back late both nights and didn't go in. Thanks for the old school DirecTV! We watched both Dodgers games, and a Lakers game.

Girls Trip

Stayed at this home in March for a few days. Had a wonderful experience! Extremely quiet neighborhood right on a golf course which was fun to watch the golfers from the backyard. Gorgeous Mountain View’s from the backyard as well. Things to note: You have to pay to heat the pool for the entire stay which ended up being really expensive so the cool was pretty chilly. There are some dogs next door that bark pretty incessantly. The home is easily accessible and near really great restaurant but make sure you make reservations!

Summer fun

The house was very comfortable and pool was wonderful. Unfortunately, the hot water was turned off in the house (luckily it was summertime with warmer cold water) and it took a day to get a hold of someone who could help. Also, it was unclear from the description that the hot tub would not be heated unless paid for with “pool” heating. Otherwise very nice get away and would stay there again.

Fun & Relaxing!

Shooting Star is the perfect place to stay! Has everything you need and most likely anything you may have forgotten. A home away from home. The location was perfect for what we needed and the views are just amazing!! Waking up in the master bedroom to beautiful mountian views that are breathtaking. Loved walking out to the grapefruit tree every morning to pick sweet grapefruits for fresh juice for breakfast. My daughter loved the pool, ping pong table, games and our nightly S'mores at the fire pit every night. The rooms were comfortable and everything was very clean. Highly reccomend staying at the Shooting Star and I know we will be back for more fun in the sun at our home away from home. Thank you for the amazing getaway!

Really great spot!

This place is pretty perfect- the location is great, the neighborhood is quiet, the house has a great layout. The kitchen is well stocked, the pool is the perfect size to float, and the ping pong table is so fun. The hot water pressure is the only thing we found to be a problem. The master bathroom is fine but the front bath shower wasn't much more than a trickle. It wouldn't keep me from coming back to this spot though; just maybe something to think about if you don't wan to share showers.

Palm Springs weekend

Our group of 4 people spent a 4 day weekend in Palm Springs as our yearly golf trip. It's usually drinking with a little golf mixed in. We rented this spot knowing it backed up to a fairway. Beautiful views of the tee box to your right, the green to the left and mountains directly in front of you. This location was perfect for us. Spacious, clean and close to restaurants & grocery stores. The house was well equipped like the listing states. We never found ourselves "without" anything. The pool was nice and cool after each round of golf. The absolute only drawback would be the city noise ordinance. No outdoor noise after 10pm. That includes music and casual talking. Luckily, we aren't a loud bunch so it didn't really bother us too bad. We would've loved music by the pool, though. Oh....this apparantly doesn't apply to the neighbors dog. It barked all night....was super cute though. I would definitely recommend this spot for anyone visiting the Palm Springs area. Thanks for having us :)

Decent place but Heated Pool costs extra

The headline for this home in big bold print exclaims Heated Outdoor Pool, Pool Spa. However, buried in a paragraph below that starts out talking about security, is one sentence that states heated pool is 99/day extra and must be ordered prior to your stay. I missed that sentence and so no heated pool.However...in spite of no heated pool/spa, our stay was pleasant. The home is old and that is apparent on the outside. Things look better inside. Carpet appears clean and fairly new. The furniture is comfortable, the beds are comfortable, the water pressure in the showers is good. The home is in a good location, not too far from downtown PS and within walking distance to a major grocery store.The kitchen is well stocked with dishes etc. There are two washers and dryers so no problem with laundry. Bedrooms and bathrooms are a nice size. The yard is basically dirt. As stated in large print, there is a fire pit, however it was so full of pine needles we were afraid to use it.About security, all the doors that open out to the pool area have very loud alarms that can be turned on or off. Since we had a three year old with us, this really helped us feel better about the (unheated) pool in the backyard.We found this to be a very comfortable place to spend a few days in sunny Palm Springs, and would stay again.
