The well equipped kitchen also opens onto the terrace providing convenient access to the perfect location for breakfast or perhaps dinner under the stars. On the lower level all three bedrooms are comfortably furnished.

A drive of 5 minutes downhill brings you to the sandy beach and restaurants of Tamariu. You may also wish to visit the nearby cove of Aigua Xelida itself, or the pretty, sandy beach at Aigua Blava which is only 1.5km away.  This picturesque stretch of coastline, designated an 'area of outstanding natural beauty', is renowned for its wealth of unblemished scenery and abundance of hidden coves. Coastal walks take you to impressive beauty spots such as Aigua Blava and Llafranc while, further afield, several stone medieval villages are easily reached via pretty country lanes.

Dominated by a stone castle, the hilltop town of Begur (5.5km) was once a refuge for the local fishermen in the days when marauding pirates, including the infamous Barbarosa, plundered the coastline. Visitors to Begur today will find a bustling, colourful town of winding cobbled streets filled with shops, pavement cafés, market stalls and a good selection of fine restaurants.

Terraced grounds and wider than average gaps in the stair banisters mean that young children will need supervision.
