Nestled on Baldwin Avenue, this two bedroom cottage provides convenient and comfortable air conditioned accommodations, comfy queen sized beds and a/c units in each bedroom, with the amenities of Historic Paia Town and Paia Bay just a 5 to 10 minute walk away. Baldwin and Baby Beach just beyond and all areas of the island within easy driving distance. Ho'okipa and Kanaha are short drives in either direction. The cottage offers a fenced and gated yard area, shared with my one bedroom cottage (VRBO#457533) private parking, coastal style decor, fully equipped kitchen, ample space for your surf/windsurf gear, laundry area, and an outdoor covered lanai set up for island style dining. Beach chairs and beach towels are provided. Paia is a reflection of its history as a booming sugar cane plantation town with its old plantation style wooden buildings still intact. This quaint little beach town has an array of fine specialty shops, boutiques, surf shops, antique stores, bakeries, and even an old fashioned tattoo parlor. Award wining restaurants offer everything the discerning diner could want from casual bites, to the full service internationally renowned seafood of Mama's Fish House. Mana Foods, the legendary hip little grocery store built on local, organic principals is five minutes walk. They have a great prepared food bar, including soup and salad. Your hosts have lived on the North Shore for many years. They are both active members of the North Shore community and can provide access to resources and hidden treasures that are simply unavailable to regular tourists. Whether you want to charge the winter surf at Ho'okipa, meander through the Upcountry meadows, explore the idyllic waterfalls of East Maui or indulge your tropical golfing fantasies, your hosts will ensure you have the local know-how to get the most out of your trip.Getting Around Paia is the perfect starting place for day trips around the island. A car is necessary if you plan on sightseeing. We do have a bus that takes you to locations around the island but you will miss some of the islands most popular attractions. The Maui Bus stop is about a 10 minute walk from the property. If you want to try something different from the resort and touristy part of the Island, this is it!

Clean, Quiet, and Great Location

The cottage exceeded out expectations. We are a family of four and stayed 3 nights. As the title states, the house is clean, the neighborhood is quiet and best of all... You can walk to Paia Town in a few minutes and Baldwin Beach in about 10 minutes. The cottage was plenty big for our family and we will stay here again when back on Maui.

We had a great time at the cottage. It is super cute and an easy walk to town. The kitchen has all of the basics. All of the bathroom essentials are covered. We really appreciated the washer and dryer. We also loved that the host left extra sunscreen and toiletries left behind by previous guests under the sink in the bathroom for use instead of tossing. The host was super responsive to questions. Weā€™d come back again!

Wonderful Stay In An Offbeat Hawaiian Town

Most people that go to Maui stay in a condo on the west side. I have no interest in that type of stay. This cottage in Paia was perfect for us! Itā€™s private and it gives you your own personal space. There is another cottage on the property as well but gives you plenty of privacy. There is air-conditioning, but we never once turned it on. You just need to open the windows and the tradewinds cool it off within minutes! We had come from staying in Waikiki and then to this location. It was night and day for us. Waikiki was so loud and obnoxious. Every morning we woke up to doves cooing and the occasional rooster crowing. The property is very private to park your car too because it is behind a fence gate which you roll back and fourth to come in and out. The center of town is within walking distance to a whole bunch of great restaurants and fun shopping. Itā€™s not fancy, but itā€™s perfect and I would highly recommend anyone who would like to stay on the northern part of Maui. Youā€™re super close to the road to Hana and Haleakala. Beaches nearby as well.

Short walks to the market, to a wonderful breakfast spot just up the hill, to Old Paia, to the beach. Central location made doing the Hana Road, going up Haleakala, getting to Kihei/Wailea, and 'I ao Valley, all very convenient.Quiet, set back from a semi-main road which has little traffic at night. Thanks for the high chair and port-a-crib, very helpful.

Amazing cottage in Paia!

We had such a fantastic time in Paia and the cottage was perfect for our family of 3! Very close to stores, restaurants, and tasty coffee shops. And not much further to walk to the beach! Highly recommend staying here for an "at home" feel but still enjoy everything Maui has to offer. Great location and the host was very kind and helpful.

Peaceful and well kept cottage

The cottage was very well kept and made us feel like we were right at home. The location is great and within walking distance of lots of restaurants and beaches. If we return to Maui this will be the first place we look to stay. We highly recommend staying here if youā€™re visiting Maui.

The online photos were misleading. In actuality, you walk into a unit with concrete floors and what appears to be not great thrift shop furnishings. (The pictures show some different furniture and a rug). I felt every day like I was walking into a garage that someone turned into a cottage. If the photos were more accurate, I would have booked elsewhere. On the plus side, it was super close to everything the town had to offer.

Location is walking distance from the restaurants and shops in town. The cottage is conveniently located off of the main road. Nice to hear crickets at night, rained almost every evening.
