Deeply disappointing stay. We had high hopes, but the experience was far below any reasonable expectation. Our room was in terrible condition — the sink was clogged and eventually detached completely, the bathtub was broken, the door lock barely worked (took multiple tries to get in), and the floor was never cleaned once. When we reported this, we were told the sand was “falling from the ceiling.” We even saw a rat in our room — twice — and were told it was “just a lizard.” Unbelievable.
The food was repetitive, tasteless, and made both of us sick. I got food poisoning from a salad two days before we left. There was an extra charge for basic things like room service, and a Coke cost $4.50. Air conditioning and the mosquito repellent device were turned off without warning, and no fumigator was provided — we had to go buy one ourselves.
The resort itself feels neglected and outdated. Bicycles, snorkeling gear, life jackets, boats — everything looked old and barely functioning. Wi-Fi kept dropping, there were no evening activities, and even the childcare staff seemed indifferent and unengaged. A staff member at reception responded “just it?” when we listed serious room issues. That kind of attitude says it all.
This was not a budget hotel, and yet the experience was worse than any low-cost stay we’ve ever had. It felt like no one cared — about the guests, the quality, or the basic standards of hospitality. We couldn’t wait to leave. Absolutely would not return or recommend.
