"Great location. We wanted seclusion and it did not disappoint. I see some reviews complaining about the road to the house but that is what I loved. The connecting road is a little steep and bumpy but to get away from the crowds or tourists' areas, I can put up with a little rough road. "We only stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer had we had the time. The cottage and property were absolutely beautiful, offered everything we needed, and Laurel was a lovely hostess. The breakfast with fresh fruit grown on site was a perfect way to get acquainted with Hawaii. We had to google what some of the fruit was and how to eat them. So much fun, and super fresh and delicious. Great experience!"

"We stayed for 5 nights. The house is lovely, clean, very well equipped. There are thoughtful additions like coolers and ice packs, beach towels, aloe for sunburn! The location is quiet and furnished tastefully, beds also v comfortable. We loved driving all over and seeing the island. "Very quiet location a short drive from Hilo. Beautiful grounds filled with fruit trees, charming birds, and the coqui frogs will relax you at night. The screened-in lanai is airy with ceiling fans and you will enjoy every spare moment out there or even a nap. Spacious well equipped kitchen and brand new appliances throughout. Many great snorkeling adventures in Hilo make great day trips. Check out the Tuesday night traditional Hawaiian music at the Hilo Town Tavern. "

"House as described, Dannie is a wonderful host and always reachable. She helped us with everything in our special situation, we will never forget her and Jessica. If you want a home away from the tourists you are right. Awaiting luxury and quietness, go in a hotel. It’s a normal neighborhood with chicken, dogs and everything else. "We did not get a chance to enjoy the pool but it was sparkling clean. We definitely enjoyed the FOUR dining areas; inside near kitchen, front porch and the grill out back by the pool was super clean and that table was a great place to relax. there was only one room with AC but PLENTY of fans (dont forget to check the closets!) and with the windows open it was very nice. There is also a public walking path to the cliffs right down the road and I highly recommend it. I would 100% stay here...
