Dear Expedia Customer Service,
I’m writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding my recent hotel booking through your platform. I reserved a room at Westland Hotel in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria for September 15–17, 2025, based on the positive reviews listed on your site. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing and far below the standards expected from a property featured on Expedia.
Upon arrival at 3:00 PM (after the stated 2:00 PM check-in time), the staff could not locate my reservation. The manager on duty was dismissive and unprofessional, refusing to assist directly and deferring me to a junior staff member. After a delay, I was finally checked in—but the room was not as advertised.
The property was undergoing extensive construction, making it impossible to rest due to constant noise. The room itself had multiple issues:
A leaking sink that worsened after maintenance attempted repairs
A malfunctioning television with no resolution offered
Mosquito infestation, resulting in multiple bites despite choosing this hotel specifically to avoid such conditions
The next morning, I was denied basic courtesy during breakfast. Though I was the only one eating, my fiancé was told he could not sit with me unless he paid. A male staff member escalated the situation aggressively, closing the door in my fiancé’s face. Only after a supervisor intervened was the situation diffused.
