The Vaudeville Suite at The 1883 Guesthouse

The spacious Vaudeville Suite celebrates the theatrical spirit of a bygone era with vintage-inspired details, playful touches, and a sense of old-fashioned showmanship—while giving you the comforts of a modern stay. It's inspired by the Cozy Theatre, a vaudeville and movie house once located in our 1883 building.

This deluxe suite gives you room to spread out, with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Curl up in comfort in the spacious master bedroom with a large turreted skylight and a king bed, after soaking in a relaxing bath in the claw-foot tub in the master bathroom. (There's a separate shower, too, if you're in a hurry.) The second bedroom offers a queen bed, and there's a second bathroom next to it.

Prepare a feast in the huge kitchen, which invites socializing with a large island and counterop bar area. Or relax in the open living room, watching TV, chatting, playing board games (we've included some), or just lying back and letting the sun stream in from the oversize windows. At night, the living room sectional can turn into a queen-size bed.

The suite sits in the Star Block building at the heart of downtown, putting you near pretty much anything in Osage City. Better yet, Forty Barrels Coffee + Kitchen, a local independent coffeehouse and restaurant, is just downstairs and features a robust menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, not to mention specialty coffee drinks, craft beers and cocktails. You can also browse Horn & Ivory Books, also downstairs, for gifts or something to read. Or take a bike ride or stroll on the award-winning Flint Hills Trail, a nearly 100-mile rail trail that recently became a state park. It passes directly behind the building.

We're also less than a 15-minute drive from two major reservoirs -- Pomona Lake and Melvern Lake -- and the two state parks alongside them, with plenty of boating, fishing and other recreational opportunities.
