Big Bear Cabin | Game Room, Hot Tub, Fire Pit & Year-Round Views

Big Bear Cabin is an immaculate mountain home located in Gateway Mountain's 3,000-acre nature preserve. Enjoy access to lush wooded forests, gorgeous waterfalls, and stunning mountaintop views. The community also has two small lakes and a trout pond for catch-and-release fishing (no license required). The cabin is a mere 1-mile hike to the private community waterfall and is just up the hill from the swimming area and fishing pond by Lake George.

About the Home
• Impressive living room with 25' high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling views, Roku Smart TV, and wood-burning fireplace.
• Well-appointed kitchen with dishwasher, Keurig, drip-style coffee maker, and eat-in dining for 6.
• Upper-level loft, overlooking the living room, provides a dedicated workspace (desk & chair, monitor, HDMI cable, keyboard & mouse) and Smart TV.
• Garage game room with pool table, ping-pong table, pop-a-shot basketball, and air hockey.
• Spacious deck with covered and open-air seating, bistro-style lighting, and a hot tub overlooking long-range mountain views.
• Wood burning fire pit with seating for 5.

• Main floor bedroom with queen-size bed; a full bathroom, with bathtub and shower combination, can be accessed from the hallway.
• Lower level bedroom with king-size bed, a twin-size bunk bed, and en suite bathroom with walk-in shower.

Please note: This home is NOT pet-friendly. There are 2 ring flood light exterior cameras (1 at the front deck and 1 at the back porch above the door). Firewood is not provided. 4WD is not required the majority of the year but is strongly recommended during the colder winter months when icy and/or snowy road conditions are present. We also recommend travel insurance for those staying in the Gateway Mountain development during the winter months. No parking is allowed on roadways or at gate entrances. No RVs, boat trailers, camping trailers, or trailers of any kind are permitted in the Gateway Mountain Community.

The property management company exceeded expectations in all ways. We needed to have medical equipment delivered to the home, and they spoke with me multiple times to get delivery set up on a weekend. The home was great. We can't recommend any of the Greybread properties enough. Thank you!

The house is lovely. Roomy and cozy at the same time! Really comfortable beds, wonderful kitchen and living space, and we loved the porch and hot tub. It is certainly off the beaten path, but the peace & quiet and the millions of stars at night made it worth the drive!

Stayed here to explore the area and glad that I did! Beautiful home in a super location. The Lake Lure area is remarkable and very close. So much to do around there at Lake Lure. The views from this home in Gateway Mountain are wonderful. Clean and large home.

We had a great time! Property manager was very helpful. The house has great mountain views and two separate areas to sleep. Great for 2 families. Very spacious and bright. We really enjoyed our stay. The only thing, it is better to arrive during the daytime since the house is difficult to find at night, very steep mountain roads to get there. Definitely need a car that can withstand steep road and curves.

We really enjoyed the property. The rooms were big and roomy. The view was lovely. We enjoyed going to the waterfall that was nearby. We especially enjoyed playing pool. We wish that the darts were in good shape. We had a very pleasant vacation.

Big Bear cabin is a beautiful property, as noted it is a hidden gem…. Comfortable and homey feel to the house and we love the area as well. Will definitely return and anyone who goes will enjoy it immensely!

The property is beautiful and secluded even though it is in a gated community. Short drive to town. Great views and game room. Owner provided linens and towels but no extra blankets. At night we used couch throw blankets on the beds instead of turning the heat up higher. Also had to purchase additional cookware to use as we didn’t find it provided in the kitchen.

Great property! It is quite of a curvy drive to get there off the highway (once you get into the neighborhood), but it was a wonderful stay. My parents also loved that they had a ramp into the property.
