I recently stayed at the Sago Palm Hotel in Jamaica and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the security and front desk staff were friendly, approachable, and very helpful throughout my stay. Their warm attitude made check-in and general interactions pleasant.
However, there are some areas that could use improvement. The dining options are very limited, so if you’re looking for variety, you may need to plan to eat elsewhere. There was also a noticeable odor in certain areas, which affected the overall comfort.
One major concern was the $200 deposit policy. I was told it would be held and then released, but instead, it was charged to my card. I had to follow up with the hotel afterward to have it resolved, which was inconvenient and disappointing.
Overall, while the staff’s friendliness is a plus, the lack of dining options, lingering odor, and deposit handling issues made the stay less enjoyable than expected.
