This was meant to be a birthday trip, but it became an extremely distressing experience due to how my reservation and safety concerns were mishandled.
Key Details
1. Reservation Ownership
• I made the reservation and paid for it in full.
• Following an incident with the two people listed under my booking, I requested that they be removed from the reservation.
• I was told this could only be handled by Expedia, while Expedia insisted it was the hotel’s responsibility. This back-and-forth resulted in no action by either party.
2. Request to Cancel Reservation
• Because I no longer felt safe, I then asked that the entire reservation be canceled.
• I made it clear that I was not requesting a refund at that time—I only wanted the reservation canceled so the other guests could not remain under my booking.
3. Safety Concerns
• I left the property because I did not feel safe or comfortable.
• No guest should ever be forced to remain associated with a reservation that compromises their safety. In today’s world, we are all too aware of tragic situations where people end up harmed while traveling with others. My request to separate myself from that unsafe situation should have been honored immediately.
4. Customer Service Failures
• Instead of receiving help, I was redirected between the hotel and Expedia, with neither taking accountability.
