Misleading “Five-Star” Resort – We Didn’t Stay!
We booked West Cliffs Resort expecting genuine five-star quality. We always stay in five-star hotels through Expedia and have never had an issue—until now. This was the worst and most deceptive “luxury” property we’ve ever encountered.
After a 10-minute walk to our “villa’’, number 43, we opened the door to what looked stripped and robbed. All three bedrooms showed where TVs had been removed, not even a picture to make them homely! There were just flies and a stale, neglected smell. The balcony was flooded up to our ankles, completely unusable.
When I questioned the open snacks left in the room, reception claimed they were “new.” The three women on reception were rude and dismissive, talking over each other. One even made a sarcastic comment—“What do you want, another one?” The manager said “the photos are illustrative” and “owners don’t need to provide more than one TV,” yet later emailed saying they had “provided everything as promised,” refusing a refund. Those statements completely contradict each other—you can’t admit the photos aren’t real and still claim promises were met.
They are piggybacking off the West Cliffs Golf Club’s good name, but the villas bear no resemblance to its standard or reputation. We also found dead worms in the pool. We checked in and out within two hours, yet the hotel refuses to take responsibility.
The photos are deceptive and totally unrepresentative of reality. Avoid at all costs!!
