Upon arrival, we were checked into a room that, as we later discovered, was listed on the no-rent list — a fact that was confirmed by staff only after we reported multiple issues. Within the first ten minutes of entering the room, it became clear that neither the air conditioning nor the television were functioning. After a long 13-hour day of travel, we were exhausted and simply needed a place to rest.
When we brought this to the attention of the front desk, we were informed that nothing could be done, as management was not on-site until the next morning. We were also told that they knowingly placed us in a room they could not rent out. Instead of being moved or offered a resolution, we were handed a small fan and told we could not leave or be relocated. This was our only night at the property before continuing our trip to Jawaii the next morning at 6 AM.
What should have been a brief and restful stop turned into a frustrating and uncomfortable experience. We were not contacted proactively about a resolution. In fact, we had to call back ourselves — multiple times — during our vacation, just to get any form of follow-up. Each time, we were told that a manager was still unavailable. It took five full days before we finally received a return call.
