Soak in the sounds of the sea and let your cares drift away during a stay at Family Tides! Float in the private pool or drink in the ocean views from the welcoming sunroom and large open deck. Best of all, the entire family is welcome as this home accepts 1 dog per stay.

Gather together on the comfy living room sectional to watch a favorite show or movie through your personal streaming services or check out the local channels thanks to a digital antenna. Tucked behind the sofa, the dining table seats four with additional seating available at the adjacent breakfast bar. The spacious kitchen offers plenty of counter space and is fully stocked with everything you need to cook and serve meals during your stay.

On the east side of the home, the front and back bedrooms are each furnished with a king bed. A full bathroom with a standard tub/shower combo is shared between them. On the west side, the ocean-facing bedroom offers two twin beds, while the rear bedroom offers a queen. The full bathroom on this side of the home is furnished with a step-in shower stall. The final sleeping space is off the kitchen and is furnished with a double loft bed.

When it’s time to head to the beach, you’ll find a public beach access right across the road, and beach chairs and toys are provided for your use. If you tire of the surf and sand, rinse off in the convenient enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water before heading to your private pool. Let the kids splash their energy out while you grill up the catch of the day on the provided charcoal grill. Sit back, relax, and enjoy building memories at Family Tides!

If you wanna stay somewhere that doesn’t provide anything,this is it

We had problems getting into the house with the code. But my biggest problem is that none of the beds were made, this is a vacation, I shouldn’t have to put sheets on all the beds after driving for so long. No soap provided to wash our hands and no extra trash bags for a family staying 5 days. We had to go to the store several times to buy things that should have been in the house. Also they do not have anyway of cleaning the pool. Storm came through and put a lot of stuff in it, wanted to clean it with a net but there wasn’t want way too. Overall I would never stay at one of there places again.

Would not book again!

Check in was at 4pm. We were not able to enter the property at said check in time because there was an issue with keyless entry pad and lock. After a long drive, this is not an ideal situation. Maintenance was sent out 20 mins later. Mind you, same maintenance man was sent out the first of two times within 24 hours. Not a way my family wanted to spend their vacation. No follow up from anyone at the property management office. They clearly lack customer service of any kind. Outdoor shower did not work. It lacked any personal touches whatsoever. The only two things this property had going for it was proximity to beach and the pool. That is it. We would not book this specific property or any others through Oak Island Accommodations again as long as we live.

Great location but filthy

The location was perfect especially with little kids in our group. However the house was a little different than pictured. Let me say that we all had to sign a “Covid” form before getting there so I’m thinking it would be clean. Floors and baseboards were filthy with dirt and dust. We had to wash our bedspreads before making our beds due to questionable stains. Most all furniture (nightstands, drawers, end tables) were cheap plastic, like outdoor furniture (and dirty). The closet in the room I was in looked like someone balled up their dirty blankets and tossed them in the corner, along with a mop! The bathrooms were nasty. Toilet paper roll and shelf not secured to wall so un-useable. There was mold/mildew on the shower curtain and the floor in the stand up shower felt like you could fall through. The kitchen cabinets looked like someone threw items in and shelf liner had old food stains and stuck to the shelves. I actually rearranged the cabinets (pots, pans, bowls) so I could easily find things. The couch was the only piece of furniture that was comfortable and that’s stretching it. One bedroom (double/twin) was unusable because the mattress was a thin piece of foam!! The only broom in the house was so old that the bristles were curled up…it got up SOME sand but not much. The rugs had sand spurs and the rug in the den constantly shed white string-looking material. This was a family vacation and we made the best of it (the house). Despite everything we had a great vacation and as I mentioned before, the location was perfect. And no, I didn’t called OIA because what were they going to do? I knew they wouldn’t put us in a diff property…with a pool. And oh. The pool was dirty. It looked like leaves were in the pool and old deflated pool rafts? Laying all over. There was one pool noodle, in about 3 pieces Sooooo. Thanks but no thanks on this property and it makes me think twice about the other rentable properties.

Birthday trip!

We went to celebrate my dads 60th and it did not disappoint! The location is excellent, just being able to walk right on the beach was lovely. The rooms were perfect for us and the pool was great. We had a wonderful time.

We liked the quiet neighborhood.

Upon arrival for check in, the cleaning crew was still in the house, the soiled linens sat at the bottom of the stairs outside for three days and the laundry room was full of soured soiled linens upon arrival remained three days into our stay. They were removed after I called the property rental company. There was no ice maker in the fridge as advertised and no usable skillets for cooking. The property rental company did address all of my concerns when I called. They had the linens picked up and brought two new skillets. The ice maker on the other hand, “was a mistake in the listing.” There were 6 ice trays to fill. (Guess who the ice maker was.) The porch door would barely stay closed and the porch railing was falling apart. I don’t like to give bad reviews, but I’m just being honest about it. There were no reviews posted when I booked this house and the nice photos don’t tell the whole story. The ocean view was nice, the neighborhood was quiet. This house just needed some TLC, organization of owner/guest items, deep cleaning, flooring updates on the enclosed porch and carpeting in the halls and bedrooms. Did I say the view was nice? The pool was nice.
