The location of this property is right in the center of the village, walkable to a large variety of cafes, restaurants, and wineries.
We stayed in the “Chambertain” room (each of the rooms has a unique wine-related name, rather than a number).
The kitchen, bathroom, and living room are all on the ground floor, making the arrival with luggage very easy (especially nice for us being seniors).
The bedroom is very spacious in what was formerly an actual wine cellar at the lower / basement level! Truly a unique experience and quite beyond description.
With that in mind, it’s worth noting that the bedroom has arched “barrel” ceilings, with the highest point about 5’- 10”. Moving between the living room and the bedroom requires navigating a narrow “ships ladder” stairway— not a problem for us having many years of boating experience, but the stairs are more narrow, and the steps are higher than what “landlubbers” might expect.
This should not be a problem for most folks, but anyone who has concerns about confined spaces or navigating stairs that are more like a stepladder or narrow spiral staircase might want to consider a different room.
Not a criticism, just a “heads up” intended to avoid any unpleasant experiences for guests or for the staff.
Cheers!
