Nearby North Walsham has larger shops, fishing, golf, bowling, boat hire, leisure centre with swimming pool and the Bittern Line railway runs between Norwich and Cromer. National Trust properties include Felbrigg Blickling Hall and many nature reserves locally. The Broads can be reached within 20 minutes for day boat hire. Norwich is 20 miles away for a punt on the river, theatre, open-top bus ride, castle and cathedrals.
