I booked the stay for my daughter and family and made this clear when booking. On arrival, they were subjected to a 45 minute briefing of all the rules etc. The owner called a number of times during the stay,
1) to say the outside light had been left on, it was dark and one of the party had gone out for a walk.
2) a window had been left open, it was a warm sunny day.
3) the owner had agreed to a camper-van being parked on the drive for 2 days of the stay, but then objected to a power lead being plugged in. The owner has suggested a charge for the electric per night.
There were dozens of notices around the property explaining the rules. EG Don't put rubbish in the bins, they were expected to take all rubbish home with them.
The owner has contacted me and claims that the property has been left in such a state that it took 10 hours to clean up. Absolutely ridiculous.
The owner claims that there was a hole in the none slip bath mat, the mat was not used.
The owner claims not to have known that my daughter and family would be attending, even though I sent a comprehensive message to this effect.
The owner claims that there was a glass broken, this was discovered in the cupboard already broken and left out to be seen. It was actually a pub glass so didn't belong to the owner.
The owner has said that she will withhold the deposit but has not yet sent me justification for this as I have asked.
This would have been a really enjoyable break for my daughter and family were it not for the regular interference from the owner during the stay and the unfounded accusations she has now made.
