This 2 bedroom/1 bathroom apartment is directly on the beach in Ocean View area of Norfolk, near Virginia Beach, downtown Norfolk, naval bases, ODU, CNU, and many area attractions. It features a deck with an incredible view, central air, washer and dryer, 1 queen bed and 2 twin beds, Smart TVs, WiFi, and a full kitchen. Only 1 reserved parking space is provided. Do not attempt to park more than one vehicle. This is an upstairs unit not suitable for noisy guests or events of any kind. Only quiet, housebroken pets are allowed with payment of the pet fee.

As previously reviewed, I can confirm that the property smelled like cats had marked inside the apartment. It needs to be professionally cleaned; plug-in Glade air fresheners and one air purifier are not going to cut it. The apartment looked exactly like the photos, but because of the smell, we stayed for 30 minutes, left, and did not return. After driving 8 hours to get there, to say we were disappointed was a severe understatement. As for the listing, there is one small parking space that should be mentioned; if you have an SUV, you could have difficulty parking and opening doors if a car is next to you. (I had a Honda Pilot, and it was quite tight) You park right up against the house. The address is also incorrect on the listing once you book, so be sure to check the separate button with parking and direction information, because the VRBO listing address takes you to the house next door, and that is NOT the correct address.

Although the property has great potential, the entire condo had an overwhelming smell of cat urine. The unit is older and in the process of repairs which we were willing to over look but the smell was just too much. We had to leave after the first night and have not received any response after contacting the host letting them know of the issue.

We had an excellent stay at this Vrbo property. Thank you for providing such a spacious and comfortable accommodation, complete with thoughtful amenities and beautiful beach access. The environment was quiet, relaxing, and exceptionally well-maintained. Besides the long stairways—which made transporting our luggage a bit difficult—we had a beautiful time. We truly appreciated the experience and would highly recommend this property.

Good linens, clean and had extras. Things were clean, with the exception of the fan in the kitchen. I didn’t notice the other fans. The sliding glass door was very hard to slide, too hard for older people. We thought the noise level would have been kept low in the late evening, but there was a party and loud in Apt A until after midnight. The double bed was very uncomfortable…my friend said the twin bed was good. The pillows however, are way too thick and hard. Neither one of us could use them. The am a host in Hillsborough NC, and appreciate feedback from guests. I love the old building…so glad it is being restored. Host was quick to respond.

Property had a fantastic location and plenty of room for everyone. It is right on the beach which was our main attraction to it. Interior, in my opinion, was a bit warned out, pics look very fresh and renovated, but it is just a paint over an old facility for the most part. Still, the stay was enjoyable and well worth the money.

May family stayed for an entire week. This is the 1st time we did a VRBO so I had some concerns. The 1st thing I noticed is that it was clean!! The AC worked wonderful! The beds and pillows were more than I expected…extremely comfortable. This is an upstairs apartment. Was awesome that the washer and dryer were upstairs in the apartment. Water was hot for showers! Every morning I had my coffee out on the balcony. It was relaxing and just what we needed. I would definitely recommend and stay there again for sure!! Honestly everything was just perfect.

Weekend Getaway

The apartment is a nice renovated apartment. It is over 100 years old and definitely shows. The floor is pretty awful with how uneven it is. Close to the laundry room there is a soft spot where I thought I was going to fall through. The temperature while there on my stay was 93-95 and the AC would not cool the apartment lower than 72. The “master” bedroom so as also 10 hotter than the living room and we had to move the bed out to the living room because it was too hot. Also, there are only blinds. There are no curtains. Investing in the blackout curtains that can help control the heat would be a great investment. Also, there were only 3 towels to use when my stay was 3 nights. There were two guest staying. Yes there was a washer and dryer, but no soap or anything provided. I would have thought there would have been more towels provided.The walk to the beach was good. Would be better if they would take Time to trim the weeds/ bushes. When you walk to the beach you literally walking though the plants. The air filter needs to be changed!

Amazing View

The place was as described. Direct beach access. Beautiful view from the deck. Short drive to some spectacular food options. My only issue was the parking space for our unit would struggle to accommodate a compact car.

Absolutely amazing!

This was the first vacation my girls and I took as a family and it was amazing! I could not have asked for a better view and the apartment was beautiful! The beds were sooo comfortable and those pillows were heaven! I am hoping to rent from Southern Hospitality LLC for our next trip as well. Thanks George!!!
