With a quaint village atmosphere and a stunning dune-backed beach, Crantock is a dream coastal destination on Cornwall’s dramatic north coast, just two miles southwest of Newquay. Wedged between the Pentire Headland and the Gannel River Estuary, Crantock Beach boasts fine golden sand and crystal-clear surf making it ideal as an all-rounder for families and water-sports enthusiasts alike. Surrounded by a postcard-worthy slice of countryside which forms part of The National Trust, the area is strewn with meandering footpaths that offer visitors the opportunity to take in not only incredible sea views, but also the sights and sounds of a wealth of flora and fauna local to the area.
Positioned within just a short walk of its sandy stretch and just a short distance from the village’s pubs and restaurants, Wish You Were Here is a contemporary two-bedroom holiday home with an enclosed garden and hot tub, that offers families and couples a relaxing retreat in a fantastic seaside location. Open plan in design, its modern living area is airy and light; perfectly proportioned to include a dining space, lounge and kitchen, with double doors opening out to the patio and garden to allow the fresh sea air in. A lovely spot to soak up the Cornish sunshine or for relaxing with a post-beach drink, the outside space is furnished with a rattan suite and is completely enclosed so that guests who have their four-legged companions in tow can let them stretch their legs.
Upstairs are the property’s two tasteful bedrooms which comprise a master en suite with double bed and a second with twin zip and link beds that can be configured as super king size on request.. Both bedrooms feature a cool grey scheme with crisp white linen and large windows that lend a bright and airy feel, to create a peaceful place to retreat to after fun-filled days spent down on the beach.
Crantock village is home to a handful of good pubs and restaurants, the most frequented and popular of which being the traditional Old Albion Inn, and across the road the Cornishman and the fashionable C-Bay Cafe. Both the Old Albion and the Cornishman host many live music events. Across the river on the Pentire Headland, are the wonderful Sea Spray Café and The Fish House Fistral; easily accessed from May to September via the small foot ferry from the Gannel Estuary.
*The following can be provided in the property if requested at the time of booking: stair gate, travel cot, high chair, potty, step stool, toilet trainer seat. Please note that in the interest of hygiene a cot mattress is not supplied and guests are asked to please bring their own If the stair gate is requested, guests will need to fit the stair gate themselves at their own risk and are solely responsible for the safe and correct fitting.

Good Housekeeping Bond We ask our guests for a £200 good housekeeping bond, which is pre-authorised against your card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved and then released afterwards if there is no claim. We will contact you nearer the time of your arrival to arrange this.
This property accepts 2 small dogs or 1 dog of any size. A charge of £40 per pet per stay/week will be applicable and required before your stay. We will arrange and invoice with you directly upon booking confirmation.

Beautiful Crantock
My wife, 2 mad labradors and myself spent a week at wish you were here at the beginning of September and cannot wait to return next year.
The property is perfect for couples & families with everything you need for a great night in after spending the day exploring Cornwall.
The location is the best we’ve experienced when staying in Cornwall and is perfect if you just want to park the car up for a week and explore the local area on foot but is also ideal for quick drives out to visit some of the many great attractions.
Crantock village is lovely with 2 great pubs and a brilliant bistro / pizza restaurant, plus it is literally on the beach!
In a nutshell we absolutely loved our stay and will be back next year to finish the jigsaw we started!

A perfect Christmas break
Superbly clean, comfortable and well equipped. We spent the Christmas week at the cottage and loved every minute of it. We enjoyed walks to the beach - literally down the hill - not even 10 min walk; we even enjoyed an invigorating swim on Christmas Day. We did a few runs both along the cliffs and to Holywell bay along the road - hilly but bucolic. We were left delicious treats by our host - even down to the personal touch on the Christmas cake - thank you! The hot tub was a perfect way to end the day after walking and running. We (including our pup) couldn’t have asked for more!

Nice house but you must follow the rules …
A modern house in the lovely village of Crantock. Walking distance to beach, pub, shop etc. Nicely furnished and well equipped. Allocated parking space a few doors up from the house. Hot tub a nice extra albeit it a little exposed to both the elements (weather) and neighbours. Disappointed it was fixed to Eco mode meaning you had to choose between heat or jets, but not both together. Newquay and various supermarkets a short drive.
The only negative was the numerous laminated instructions left all round the house - don’t do this, don’t do that, turn this down, turn that off, only use this if you have to etc etc., plus warnings in the welcome book that if you do this you may be charged, and if you don’t do that you may be charged etc. I appreciate that holiday homes need to come with instructions and maybe not all guests are as respectful of the properties as we are. However there’s a fine line between ensuring the property is not misused vs making guests feel uncomfortable, when they’ve paid to stay there.

Holiday stay at 4 pipers parade Crantock newquay
just returned home from spending a weeks holiday at wish you were here in crantock .
The house was fabulous and everything as it was described on the booking site . The was reasonable new so everything was still in excellent condition . on arrival there was a very nice and well appreciated welcome basket with scones jam and clotted cream plus a lot of other little nice touches that you would not always get when staying at holiday homes ,
The house itself was lovely and clean and the location was excellent and very close to the local shop ( 4 minutes stroll )which stocked most things if you needed to use it including lovely fresh Cornish pasties and sandwiches if you fancied a nubble .
The 2 local pubs where 2 minutes on from the shop . we tried both for food and we enjoyed our food at both places .
Crantock beach is fabulous , very big and most important , dog friendly and was about a 10 or 12 minute stroll from the house , we visited most days evening if it was just to run our little girl pebbles ( the dog),
there are other beaches very close by that can be driven too in 10 minutes , or you can do what we did and walk which was lovely around the coastal routes .
Fistral beach can be reached by walking to crantock beach crossing the gannel estuary then walking about another 20 minutes which we did on a couple occasions .
Then on our return from our daily trips out we relaxed in the lovely spa at the property , so needles to say we can honestly say very thoroughly enjoyed our stay at wish you were here and for us it was the perfect holiday and would recommend to anyone .
Will we return again , Absolutely yes , it would be ashamed to not return and take advantage of this lovely holiday home and the wonderful place it is situated at .
