This home sits right in the heart of Newport Beach, less than a half-mile from the Newport Beach Pier and boardwalk! You're also less than a mile from terrific dining at places like Bluewater Grill, the Dock, and Wild Taco! This rental is right across from beach access, while Huntington Beach is only six miles away for more dining and entertainment options! Another great and popular must-see city nearby is Laguna Beach. Located only 12 miles away, this beautiful coastal destination is a great place for those who love art, the beach, sunny days, and unique attractions.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Location : Terrific Problem: wrong access code: couldn’t get in for a good 12 hours after I arrived

It’s a prime location. Right next to the pier. 2 main problems…not clean. Sand on the floor in several rooms. The biggest problem is I was given an incorrect access code and could not gain entry to the property. I Ended up sleeping on the pavement in front of the property my first night. The key is in a 4 digit combination lock so if they give you an 8 digit access code, it will not work.

Paying for location - pros and cons

PROS: You are paying for the location of this house - it's right next door to the local scene, so you don't have to drive anywhere. There are so many food options in walking distance it's great. The beach access is amazing, just walk across the busy boardwalk (beware!) and you are to the ocean in like 300 feet. CONS: My biggest gripe of the stay was the A/C didn't work consistently. The fan in the living area worked, but the master bedroom did not work at all. I had a Vacasa guy out there and he was like "sorry!" and didn't fix anything. We got the A/C to kick back on later that night but it was not very effective. We were without A/C for 24 hours and they said they'd credit our account and I have yet to see that. There are many homeless in the area and only one was super aggressive with language with our family. Although you are right next door to a food place, it was really quiet. The noisiness came from upstairs patrons, as it was quite loud. The parking spot is super tight. What you don't see in the pictures accurately are that the bedrooms are TINY. Like you can barely put your suitcase in there with you. Also, there is NO DAYLIGHT in the bedrooms. The windows are small. Which could be a positive and a negative - if you want to sleep it's perfect. It was so nice to have a washer and dryer, the dryer just took forever to dry anything. The couches in the family room are not comfortable. Luckily, we didn't spend much time on them. A vacuum would have been handy. I swept everyday, but there was so much sand. Although I called Vacasa to double check if they had chairs and an umbrella before we left on our trip, they told me the rental did not have them. So I packed them, only to find out they do have an umbrella and some beach chairs (we didn't have to use either since we packed our own). I would stay here again - I just think what I've listed above is so you can have the proper expectations for this rental.

Near the action

The home is located literally right next door to the ice cream shop (they sell other food too). It’s a kids dream. The downfall is that our 5 yr old nearly got run over on the boardwalk more than once because he walked out the gate without looking. The home is older but since you’re so close to restaurants there really isn’t a reason to cook much. Bring your own chairs and sand toys. While the house was what we expected and OCEAN FRONT the management company is blah. We asked for four different things - early check in, later check out, extend the stay, coffee- they gave a generic “I’m sorry” reply each time. There’s no going above and beyond from the management company, however the owner of the property shouldn’t get a bad review for that. We wish there were some plastic style kid plates/bowls and cups. The laundry is very small and takes forever to dry even a small load. A vacuum would have been helpful. The sand gets everywhere. Overall we liked the place and would rent again.

Perfect getaway house

This property was perfect for us. It is a few steps from the beach and conveniently situated walking distance from bars and restaurants. I recommend this property and will be staying there again.

Great location but…..

The location is great if you are looking to be in the center of activity. The only issues we experienced were electrical related…the ceiling fan in the master bedroom did not work as well as some of the outlets on the walls. The lights flickered or dimmed as if there was a short somewhere in the unit. Before we left for our vacation, I called to find out if there were beach chairs, towels etc. and was told no so we brought our own. Upon arrival we noticed they did provide chairs (4) an umbrella and beach towels (4). No biggie other than it took up a lot more space to pack these items and drag them with us. There are a lot of homeless people in the area but they weren’t intrusive or asking for handouts.

On the beach, but too many homeless

We were very excited to rent this 2 bedroom one bath house on the beach right near the pier. Me, my husband and 2-16 yr old boys. Check in was 4pm, but our parking spot was occupied, and I couldn’t gat anyone to respond from Vacassa to do anything about it. It is almost impossible to find a parking spot anywhere near the house, even metered spots were full. I wandered around and finally went upstairs and found out it was the people staying there using both spots. Very frustrating! The house had everything we needed, bedding, dishes, coffee maker (Keruig) towels, beach chairs and boogie boards. The downside is the homeless people that are allowed to camp out all around the house. Also be prepared for constant bike and foot traffic right out front, and they don’t slow down to let you cross. We were very disappointed to pay thousands of dollars to spend 4 nights and not be able to sit outside on the front porch at times because homeless people were ranting and taking showers in the faucets ment for beach feet rinsing! Police do nothing, and only once during our stay did we see 3 bike cops which rode right past the homeless. Marijuana smoking is 24/7 and the smell is disgusting.. The house is great for beach access, but I would not pay to stay again in a place where the homeless seem to be expanding into. So sad that this was once a beautiful place to stay is now changing into a homeless campground.

The perfect beach spot

The listing and reviews are all very accurate. This unit patio opens right onto the exercise path and then the beach. There is a picnic type area right in front, so maybe a few more people hanging out than passing by, but not bothersome. There is a great closet of beach stuff - 4 Tommy Bahama chairs, 2 boogie boards, umbrella, balls, frisbee, etc. Beds were perfectly comfortable, and plenty of towels. We love to cook and the kitchen had everything we needed. Please note there is no cable TV service. There is a smart TV that runs Netflix, Amazon, etc, but you have to use your own account. We would totally stay here again.

Great location, pretty clean but not well maintain. AC didn't work in any room, they sent a tech who jut cleaned the filters but but the air coming out was still not cold and it was too hot at night. The tech said this is as good as it gets. The bar-b-q was dirty and rusty, door to the porch was hard to close.

Location, location, location

Can’t get any better on location! Right next to Newport Pier. Restaurants and shopping all within 5 minute walk! Unit has air conditioning which is rare in area. Very clean, organized, and roomy. Rent bikes next door, and get ice cream and shave ice too! Something to be aware of in lower unit but not a deal breaker for us - you can really hear the footsteps, toilets flushing and conversations from upstairs unit. Also no umbrella or shade on patio but easily solved with a clamp on chair umbrella which we will bring next time! Parking stall is a big plus, especially since it is right in back of units. Definitely will be back!

Best Chicken Coop

If you like to stay in a chicken coop, this one is the best one. We rented for 7 nights for August 10th this year and everything was great before we arrived and opened the door. The place wasn't cleaned after the previous tenant ( one hour later texting with Mary, we found out that the cleaning crew could't make it because some car crash). All bathrooms fixtures, faucets and shower door are rusty. Furniture is extremely old. The place is the smallest unit I ever rent from VRBO. We were forced to cancel and find another place to rent after a 2200 miles trip. I don't know how this property has all licenses to be rented.

Perfect Vacation

Our family of four LOVED staying at this perfectly located beach rental. We were a few steps from tons of great restaurants and coffee shops, and of course the beach! My husband and I really enjoyed sitting on the patio at the end of the day and people watching while our kids played on the beach just a few yards away from us. We rented bikes and rode to the Fun Zone, took the fairy to Balboa Island, and also rented a Duffy boat for a 2hr boat ride around the marina. We all agree it's the best vacation we've ever been on, and will DEFINITELY be back! Mary was very helpful. Check in and check out could not have been easier. The beach house had every single thing we needed (the beach chairs and umbrellas were perfect!). We're already planning our next trip!

Loved it!

We loved our whole week here! Great location close to the pier, the sand, ice cream, donuts! The kitchen was well appointed and even had sharp knives for cooking (dull knives are a pet peeve of mine in rentals ). Beds were comfortable and bathroom was clean!

It was a great little spot right in the middle of the action at the Newport Pier

Enjoyed this little place right at the pier. It is clean and quaint. It is right across from a little park area at the pier so a little riff raff squatting. Also, it is right next to a snack bar so it is really quite busy in front, more than just passerby traffic. It is however mere feet from everything going on at the pier and surrounding area. Would definitely consider this spot for another short trip in the future!
