"We stayed 5 nights in October half term and had a lovely stay.The cottage is very cosy and ideally located to spend time in the Peak district. Recommend the local Indian takeaway just around the corner and also the Goyt in which is only a couple of minutes walk away.Kitchen could do with a few more items, such as a baking and roasting tray but this didn't affect our stay.All in all a really lovely cottage in a lovely location. We're already considering coming back for a couple of nights in...

"Excellent location for family get-together & birthday party. The host (Fiona) was extremely helpful & pub staff provided really great service & friendly too. Pub Food was excellent 100% accurate for such a large party. The accommodation is a little quirky, but exactly as expected given it’s within a 16th century property. Great that they also have a (convenience) shop on site given that the local store is now permanently closed."

"Absolutely shocking. Stunk off Stale Curry and Urine. Nothing maintained, dangerous electricals, bed linen unwashed and no covers on the yellow/brown pillows and quilts. Food still in the sink, urine in the toilet and a huge wet patch in one of the rooms carpets. There were only room to sleep 3 even though there were 4 of us that we had booked so had to arrange alternative accommodation and no refund accepted from the landlord even though he agreed it while we were at the property. "I wouldn't stay again. I rarely leave reviews up to this point but was left feeling like this 'apartment' is a room in a multi occupancy house and it felt a bit.....what's the right word......DHSS ish. I didn't use the communal kitchen as someone in there was, well a bit weird, looking disturbed. I just think I was looking for cheap and cheerful. It was cheap. "
