This hotel has closed down. We arrived to find that it had been sold. It needs to bec removed from Wotif.

Horrible experience

Turned up a little early to check in at Maison de May but no one there. Checked their website,it said open at 2pm so waited. At 3 pm we gave up. No one there and no contact to tell us what was happening. Had confirmation that booking was excepted. Phoned Hotel.com and they were useless. Never ever use this booking site or B &B. Battled to find another pet friendly accommodation at short notice. what a stuff up.

Fantastic place to stay in Newcastle area!

Paul and Sue's B&B is wonderful... very generous breakfast (with homemade bread) and great facilities to enjoy your time in Newcastle. Highly recommended.

Excellent location, welcoming hosts, freshly baked bread, personal recommendations on what to do, comfy beds - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are so pleased to have found our go-to accommodation for future stays.

Lovely B&B in a quiet neighbourhood but still very close to the Newcastle CBD. Stayed with my husband and two children. We all loved the beautiful decor inspired by a French country cottage. The beds were comfy and the hosts provided us with homemade bread and fresh berries for breakfast. I compared the cost to what other options were available in Newcastle at the time and I found Maison de May was not only a lot better priced but a lot more interesting and unique for an accomodation experience compared to the boring old run of the mill hotel chains on offer. Highly recommend this B&B and we hope to stay again when back in Newcastle.

What a find!

Such a great place to spend the night (or preferably longer!) Walking distance to restaurants and waterfront. Quiet, private and very tastefully furnished. Warm and welcoming on a chilly winter's night. Very helpful and accommodating hosts

A quiet place to rest

Everything was fantastic. I arrived at night after flying in, and left the next morning for work. It was so simple and easy, would happily stay there again for work or with my family.

Beautiful and comfortable

Our family had a most comfortable stay for 4 nights. We travelled with our 4 year old daughter and the hosts were so generous with lending us special toys and books to entertain her. Most importantly, you can see so much effort has been invested into making this B&B a clean, elegant, comfortable and homely place. We could not be happier. And we appreciated filling up our tummies with the included yummy breakfasts before setting off on our day of exploring Newcastle. Nearby is a lovely Japanese grocery store for some yummy snacks and a handful of hot food items. Also a nearby park and playground. Convenient location.

Great BnB

The stay at Maison de May was wonderful. The owners were delightful and help make this a special overnight stay. Although it is located in the dockland area of Newcastle, it is a short ways to the downtown area. The breakfast provided was continental but of great quality (home baked bread). I would recommend this to people I know.

Great location for a home away from home

This was the first place I've stayed in that honestly felt like a home away from home. The care and attention to detail that the hosts put in is evident. The bed was so comfortable and the sheets were soft, the bathroom was sparkling clean and the water pressure was great. The included breakfast was fabulous, I will definitely be back.

J’adore Maison de May

Extremely comfortable bed, great wifi, , and can self cater or sit in the courtyard under the tree with a glass of wine. Whichever way you choose to spend your time here, it’s a home away from home.

Private, cosy and very welcoming.

We stayed to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary at Restauranr Mason in town, and our last little trip away before our baby arrives. It was perfect, private and relaxing with all the amenities we needed. Owners Paul & Sue were wonderful, they catered for my husbands Coeliac disease with the breakfast without a problem. We only stayed one night but wish it was longer, we think we might have to come back next year.

Beautiful, private and spacious.

My husband and 11 year old daughter stayed 1 night. I had never tried B and B's before but was sick of paying a fortune for a good hotel to find that they are always a small generic grey room. This experience has made me decide to never overlook B and B's in the future. The ambience was gorgeous, the spaciousness was a lovely change, loads of extras like magazines, books, games etc. The added bonus of all the little food extras, fruit platter, breakfast condiments, chocolates, cookies and especially the fresh baked bread-lovely surprise. The hosts were wonderful, not intrusive in any way but happy to chat to when we were leaving the next day. We will be back next time in Newcastle. Thank you for a lovely alternative to boring apartments and hotels.

Lovely overnight accommodation

The hosts have worked on presenting a lovely roomy space with french touches. The freshly baked bread and extras like croissaints and fresh fruit were a lovely surprise. Also the fridge contained a fresh berry fruit salad and yoghurt. The bed was very comfortable and linen was clean and fresh.

Wonderful boutique style b&b where everything was just right! Decor based on the french theme with access to small secluded courtyard. Don't be put off by the drive in from the north through the industrial area nearby. Maison de May and Young Street are a quiet haven and I am very happy to heartily recommend it.

Very nice apartment stylish apartment

Fantastic french style B&B

Friendly and helpful staff. Accommodation is quaint,cosy and tastefully decorated. A lovely breakfast provided complete with freshly baked bread , croissants , fruit and yoghurt

A cosy, clean and homely B&B

The lovely and cozy B&B made us feel at home. Paul and Sue are extremely friendly. The place is simply awesome and is the BEST B&B we have so far in our travel history. Strongly recommended for couple or couple with a kid!
