The property was fun, quirky, and in a great location. Frenchman St was only a couple blocks away and it was only a 20min walk down to Bourbon. Everything suited the needs of our group just fine.

Decent but needs improvements

Wilson the on site manager is very helpful and easy to get hold of. The problem lies in the description and photos in the listing. Lists amenities for the entire property but not specific to the unit you are in. The laundry is not in the unit and is an additional charge. The street parking is free. The VIP parking is the driveway, not gated for an additional 35 per day. Never saw a fitness room. Most of the pictures on the site did not depict the unit we were in. I was not expecting all the stairs. There are several units on the property. Some may be better, but ours lacked a communal area. The living room was not large enough to accommodate the number that it can sleep. We were 8 people and it sleeps 10. There were only some folding chairs and a chaise lounge in the room. If you want to congregate outside and use the unit for sleeping only it’s ok.The AC was good in the lower level. There were 3 beds and 2 baths down stairs. You do have to go thru one of the bedrooms to get to the shared bath on one side. The kitchen and 2 bedrooms and 1 bath were up stairs and relied on window units and fans to get cold.The description also implies how close you are to the French Quarter. It’s technically true but you are on the outer limits of it. We mostly Ubered so budget for that. You can walk but it’s not an easy stroll, especially if it’s hot outside.We were in the Paul Prudhomme unit. Other units may have more living space but be sure to inquire ahead.

We left after a few hours and never went back

I booked a 5 day stay at this property for my wife and two kids (12 yo and 17 yo). Pictures of the property prominently display a large yard with a pool and a five bedroom house. This is not however a single family house. There are multiple rental units all sharing the yard. When we arrived, we were taken to a back building that had at least 2-3 apartments on one hallway. The unit that we were taken to had five bedrooms, a kitchen but no dining or living room to eat or to sit inside. After we arrived, my kids tried to use the pool but there's a live-in property manager who sat in the yard smoking cigarette after cigarette a few ft away. In the enclosed in yard, it was impossible to avoid the cigarette smoke. later we attempted to eat a meal at the outdoor table. Once again driven out by the cigarette smoke. Other guests sitting on the porch of another unit began smoking marijuana - which is not legal in New Orleans. After just 3 hours, we packed up and went to a hotel. I wrote a text to the property manager to complain and request a refund, received several AI generated responses. There's nothing in the listing that explains this is a multi-unit property or that it may not be appropriate for families with kids. Worse, my youngest has asthma and the live in property manager's chain smoking made it impossible to use the outdoor space, which is the only space available to eat or relax outside of the bedrooms. In a word, this was "awful." Buyer beware.

Girls Trip 2024!

Absolutely loved our stay at The Chateau in New Orleans! While we could tell the place gets a LOT of use, it was still full of charm and character. The location was perfect for exploring the city, and the atmosphere felt authentically New Orleans. Wilson was exceptional — he went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience and was always friendly and available whenever we needed anything. His attention to detail truly made our stay special. Would definitely recommend and will be back! Five stars all the way!
