Perfect Spot on the Guadalupe River! Sleep up to 10 and Float all day!

Located on the outskirts of New Braunfels, the River Haven is just what its name suggests: a haven for those who want to relax.

The property sits right beside the Guadalupe River, which gives adventurous tubers the chance to float the river and enjoy some fun in the sun. You can enter the river at this property and exit at a variety of places up and down the river. There’s is a tube rental and shuttle service just down the street that will cater to your group. For those who would prefer a more restful outdoor experience, the house has a wonderful split level deck that is equipped with a grill.

When you enter the home, you will be welcomed by a cozy living room that features a stone fireplace. Inside the space, the kitchen and dining room sit waiting for those ready to channel their inner chef. Each bedroom provides plenty of room if a family vacation spot is what you’re seeking. The two downstairs bedrooms sport a queen and full sized bed respectively. The coordinating bathroom has a beautiful walk-in shower that is great for washing away your troubles. Upstairs, the master bedroom has a king sized bed, with a comfy daybed on the opposing side. The second bedroom has a queen sized bed that is ideal for those who prefer more privacy. The final bedroom contains two twin sized beds. The upstairs bathrooms contain a walk-in shower, and a full bath tub.

If you enjoy live music, the property is a short drive to Whitewater Amphitheatre, River Road Ice House or Gruene Hall. The home is also close to Schlitterbahn, San Marcos Outlet Mall, and Canyon Lake. If you’re someone who can’t wait to take to the river, inner tube in hand, or prefer a more quiet stay, the River Haven is the place for you.

We had a great time at this wonderful house! Highly recommend it if you are interested in a riverfront property! You can just walk across the street and rent tubes and they will take you up river to float back to the house!

Nice house on the river

Overall, the location and the house were perfect for our family. Nice big deck to hang out and grill. Plenty of space for families. The only drawback was the small kitchen with very little counter space.

Please read all of the small print

This is a lovely property in a great location. But it is an older home with a few updates. It is listed that it sleeps 12 but they charge you if you want to bring that many people. Read all of the small print, it seems that there are difficulties with short term rentals (STR) in the whole area. Also, the large laundry area with washer/dryer, ping pong table and another fridge are not listed. anywhere on the listed and could have been a great assessment for food/drinks if we found it sooner. Tube rental place just up the road so it made it quite easy to float.

“Just What We Needed”

The best booking from VRBO ever! The house was VERY comfortable. Had everything we needed, and more. The beds and pillows were heavenly. The view was calming and the river was perfect. The amount of room in the house allowed several activities (cooking, playing board games, reading and watching television) to go on at the same time without us tripping over each other. The linens, cook ware and dinner ware were top notch and the variety of appliances available was much appreciated. My family laughed and cried together and finally were able to enjoy “just what we needed.” We are ready to book again VERY SOON! Thank you for offering a great place where precious family memories were made.

Weekend getaway

We had 5 couples total. We all were very impressed. We felt like it was a little more expensive than a few other options. But let me tell you it did not disappoint. The house was very clean, accomodating, cold AC and plenty of fans. The beds & couches were extremely confortable. Plenty of room for all 10 of us! We would definitely stay here again. It was also close to the Tube Haus and Whitewater ampitheater where we enjoyed a concert. Absolutely 5 stars accross the board. Thank you so much for an amazing house and fun weekend getaway.

Great location with great full time neighbors

During our stay we were flanked by two houses occupied full time. Both neighbors were friendly and we were happy to engage in great conversation with one for several hours. The small rock cove provided a break from the flow and some of our party just enjoyed the calmness of the water while others went kayaking or stood in the middle of the river. The neighborhood was conveniently located near usefully amenities like groceries, ice, adult beverages, and a gas station. We will definitely be looking to book this house again for our next trip to the Guadalupe!

Core Memories Were Made

We celebrated my sons high school graduation with our closest friends here and it was the best weekend! Core memories were made laughing, dancing, floating and playing games! Fantastic location and tons of space Thank you for the best weekend we hope to be back

Family Vacation

The house is a little farther up river than we usually stay and we kept wondering where everyone was at over the Labor Day weekend…it’s a really quiet area. We enjoyed the deck, but would have enjoyed it more if the railing were safer. We had to stay on our guard the entire trip to make sure our 1 1/2 year old granddaughter didn’t fall through the railing or down the stairs. Look closely at the picture of the deck…I missed it. The stairwell inside has a similar issue as there are no spindles in the handrail and is dangerous. The neighbor makes sure to let you know to stay off of his property just in case you miss the small sign on his side of the lot or if you put the trash can in the wrong place, he’s harmless enough. I read in another review that the downstairs shower leaks and while it’s not a huge deal…take extra towels to dry the floor. The linens are skimpy and there’s definitely not enough to dry yourself and the floor without doing daily laundry. I don’t know about upstairs but there were no washcloths downstairs and I didn’t seeing many linens in the kitchen. When they say lift up on the front door to open they mean it… no one is going in or out without everyone in the house knowing…especially those who are staying in the first bedroom. The master bedroom and bathroom are very nice and looked comfortable but can’t say for sure as I slept downstairs in the first bedroom. The parking is tight but manageable if you don’t mind periodically shuffling cars. The inside was tight for the 13 of us (10 adults and 3 children) when we all had to came in during a thunderstorm some of us went to our rooms because there’s not enough seating in the living room.. A roof over the huge deck and more comfortable seating would add charm and living space…plus keep the deck and everything on it clean. The beautiful pecan tree that blocks the view of River from the door leaves a sticky mess on everything. Don’t plan on sleeping on the sofas, they are for sitting only. A sleeper sofa would have been nice, The laundry room has a foosball and ping pong table and a small refrigerator, but the space is wasted due to there is no air conditioning. We make a trip to the river every year and were thankful to find a property at the last minute big enough for our crew, but won’t stay here again, it wasn’t a good fit for our family and I definitely would not recommend this property for families with small children.

The beds were all super comfortable. The downstairs bathroom needs some help with the shower. The floor would be soaking wet because there is no seal on the door. There were hardly any utensils, so stop at the store and get some plastic ware. Not many plates either. The decking outside was awesome and entry to the river was great. The laundry room was very hot, needs a little AC unit in there. That room also has a fooseball and ping pong table which wasn't advertised. Overall, we had a great time!

Perfect Location

This was our 2nd time staying at this property. It is a great location with river floating options from the property. There's a tube rental outfitter on the same street. The house was clean and stocked with every thing needed.

Great property

Property was clean and easy to find. Limited parking but very nice overall. Very steep hill down to the river but worth it! Steps make it easy to get in and out of the water. Had a blast floating and hanging out on the huge back porch!

Wonderful!

We booked this property for our annual river trip. It was perfect, we floated the first day which was super easy since little ponderosa outfitters is just shown the street. The rocks on the edge of the bank make a perfect place for sitting and hanging out. The only issue we had was the downstairs shower leaked when used. We would def book here again!

Great place, Great location

Overall this place was great. Plenty of room inside and outside with great access to the river. The only issue we had was that the maintenance was a little lacking. The front door was difficult to open for the kids with no latch until you deadbolted it. The upstairs master bedroom air conditioner only works on high (with a note stating such) and would get very cold which is nice in the summer but you better bring a blanket. The downstairs shower will spill a lot of water out on the floor because the tiles under the glass door are tilted the wrong direction. We did notify the property manager about this and received no response. In all, these are only very minor things and we would stay here again.

It was nice. Only problems were a splinter from the rough wood and honey bees buzzing around. The yard was not maintained. Hard to sit by the water in tall grass. Dead limbs around the yard.
