The property should be downgraded to Backpacker. This has nothing to do with the room itself, but with the structure of the property. The building is situated directly at the beach, but all room windows face the concrete desert, which is the courtyard, whose only feature was a broken pool, tools lying around and broken bricks.
There is no reception, this can be found 500m down the road at a five star guest house (with seaviews).
Breakfast is served also at that guest house.
There is nobody to room you in, to the contrary: have fun finding your room, you are on your own!
And how depressing that you sit in a room and hear the waves crashing on the beach, but to that side it is a solid wall. The architect needs to be treated for acute beach-phobia!
The area has nothing to offer, no cafe, no bar, no restaurant, no amenities whatsoever. Best advise to drive to The Gannet or Protea Hotel (10km !!) that is where Mossel Bay has its heart, The Bay Lodge unfortunately is at the "other" part of Mossel Bay's body!
Shocking experience of being treated like having a contagious illness. Never, never, ever again!
