We are disappointed that you wrote a negative review, but I believe that we should file this under “you can’t make everyone happy”. It's easy for us to defend our home, especially since we have exceptional online reviews, 2 guest books full of visitor comments and pictures, and great stories in our social circles. However, I do think it's prudent for us to respond to a few of your comments, especially since you never passed along any feedback or complaints or reached out for assistance during your stay. In regard to your comments about Tanya,from housekeeping, most would agree that our team went out of their way to accommodate your arrival 4 hours prior to your scheduled time. Tanya was happy to have you relax in the cottage while she cleaned the main house. She was the one who offered to store your bags. You could have chosen to relax there or go to the beach. Instead, your children continuously entered the main house, which lead to the door being locked. It is true that Tanya talked to you about our desire to keep kids from jumping on our couches…because your kids were jumping on our couches. We take pride in our home and we want to keep it nice for the families and guests that we serve. Your assessment of the pool is completely unfounded. There are several photos of the pool that give a true representation of the size. The pool is 16’x14’ and is much larger than a hot tub. Pools on the island are typically not lap pools since there is access to the most beautiful blue water “pool” just steps away. We have had over 50 families stay at our home and we have never had anyone give negative feedback about the pool. By the way, the music does play outside. This must have been user error and could have corrected if you would have reached out to Onike for help. It is true that we have a house being built next door to our home. However, there is a good amount of space as well as a 12’ wooden wall between the house and the property next door. The word “secluded” has been used in many of our reviews. One thing I know for certain, there has never been anyone working at 630am. Island time is a real thing and I am pretty sure that there is very little being done anywhere on Great Exuma at that hour of morning. If you happened to catch the names of those workers, please pass along them along so we can hire them :) Finally, you mentioned that you were “tolerated” by locals. I would like to provide some insight on my Bahamian brethren. They are like a mirror. They will treat others as they are being treated. If you are friendly and respectful, they will do the same. If you come off as pretentious and rude, they will do the same…with the exception of few of the resorts that require their employees to turn a blind eye to any type of negative behavior, put on a smaile and bear it. Based on the feedback from all of our awesome guests, we know that team members like Tanya, Onike, and the rest of Good Life Bahamas family are friendly and go above and beyond any normal call of duty. We are truly blessed to have them watch over our dream home.
