The cabin was quiet and relaxing. I had my coffee on the dock each morning and it was beautiful. Owners go above and beyond to be very friendly and accommodating - fantastic people.

What a great place. Perfect for a small family that wants to vacation in Monticello. The place itself is very nice, but i especially like it's location right outside the edge of town, and right on the lake. Close to Indiana beach and anything you need in town, yet with a country feel to it - cornfields and meadows just North of the property. This was our second time here, and we really like the place.

The Cozy Cottage was a perfect place to stay for a short getaway to find some peace, quiet, and rest, which I needed very much. Everything was meticulously clean, well organized, and decorated tastefully. The hosts were so kind and helpful, making me feel very welcomed and safe since I was visiting on my own. I highly recommend this property.
The three seasons porch was my favorite place during my stay. So comfortable!
I woke before sunrise to a beautiful lake experience from the lovely dock/deck. So quiet and beautiful!

Everything we wanted and more!

We absolutely loved the cottage! It was clean, well stocked with dishes, appliances, blankets, towels, etc. We loved sitting on the back porch and drinking our morning coffee. The deck was nice too! Definitely would stay here again!

Cozy is right

We booked "Cozy Cottage" for the 5 days over the 4th of July holiday. We had stayed here before and wanted to return. The accommodations were great, the view of the river fabulous and the deck actually sits on the river. 100% great.

Such a great time. Only 10 minutes from Indiana Beach. Loved having morning coffee on the deck every morning. Place was clean and so adorable. We will be back if coming to Indiana again.

We were pleasantly surprised to find such a nice place to stay while visiting family at Shafer Lake. We have been coming to this area for the past 10+ years for a family reunion and struggle to find a good place to stay. The home was clean and had every amenity you could want during a stay. The Host was extremely friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be staying here for future visits.

Relaxing weekend

What a beautiful cottage and the deck out on the water was wonderful. They had everything set up and the decor was beautiful. The host checked with us when we seen him outside to make sure everything was perfect. Loved the place and will be back next summer for sure.

Enjoyable July 4th

The cabin was super cute and had everything we could possibly need! The hosts thought of everything. Cabin was very nicely decorated. We were there for the Fourth of July and could see fireworks all around us as we sat on the deck over the river.We would definitely recommend this rental. Host were on property and were there anytime we needed anything. They were very hospitable.

Bob and Jayne are the best hosts ever. Awesome cabin right on the lake. Great deck overhanging the water with a lot of sitting area. Fire pit for evening enjoyment lake side. I’d recommend this cabin to anyone and we will be returning 👍

Cozy cottage

My family and I really enjoyed our stay here! We enjoyed the house, it was really like a home away from home. Most definitely enjoyed the private deck over the water. We were fortunate enough to see some of the neighbors doing beautiful fireworks. We were able to bring our dogs, which is a huge plus. We went to Indiana beach one day and the house is so close we were able to come back and cool off a few times! I would definitely recommend staying at this property! It truly met all of our needs.

Great weekend getaway

We had a great time here MDW. The deck was perfect for lounging while we did crosswords and played cards, and we had many meals out there. On rainy days, the couch was comfy for lounging and watching our favorite shows. The cottage has a very well equipped kitchen - I usually bring a few kitchen things of my own because I never know what to expect, and they had everything we needed including good knives, basic oil and spices, and plenty of pots and pans. We would absolutely stay here again!

The cabin was good. No privacy. There's 3 cabins right next together. The pic doesn't show the other cabins. And Indiana Beach was closing alot of the rides. That was the main reason we went.

Enjoyed our stay, will definitely be back.

This place is everything you need for a fun, enjoyable lake experience. The property is right on the water with a private deck and fire pit. It was also a very quick drive to a handful of restaurants, as well as a Kroger, and boat rental marina. (We used lake shafer boat rentals). We zero issues with checking in/checking out. And the house has everything you need! We will definitely consider this same property for a fun lake get away in the future.

Just as Advertised

Came to the area to visit family and decided to try this cabin in lieu of a hotel room. Best choice ever! This cabin far exceeds any hotel in the Monticello area. It was just as described. Clean, well furnished and perfectly comfortable. Location was great; 10 minutes from the Kroger and Walmart. Lake view was nice and the deck was perfect for early mornings and evening for relaxing. Very quiet area of the lake. The sunroom was also perfect for when the weather was not suited for being outside. Overall… it was perfect for us and we will be back when we are in the area again.

Highly recommend this cottage!

This cottage is updated and nicely decorated. We spent a lot of time reading, playing games, and relaxing on the screened in porch. The beds were all very comfortable, and we had plenty of extra blankets. Cupboards were very well stocked with dishes and cookware, and the air conditioning worked great in spite of some very hot days. Most of all, this place is CLEAN! Not a speck of dust or cobweb to be found. The kitchen & appliances were immaculate, as was the entire bathroom. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time here!

Great stay

The property manager was easy to communicate with! Always great in my book! The cottage was cozy, very well decorated, and perfect size! It had everything we needed! We enjoyed the lake view from the screened in porch and played games. We did travel with a dog and toddler, so the grounds wasn’t great. No area really to walk our dog or to let the toddler run around. To swim, you need a life jacket and our dog/toddler couldn’t swim because it is deep. We spent the day at Indiana Beach and it is close to some good restaurants. We would be back for an adult only getaway!
