"It was an amazing find, travelling South on a long journey from Stornoway to Keswick. I began to feel tired in the afternoon, so I stopped the car went onto Expedia and found this place. The price was very reasonable for August, and the hotel was lovely, a little off the beaten track, but there was a local shop 2 mins away. Staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. I’m going to bookmark this one."

"Nice to return to an interesting hotel in a lovely spot. Condition of property mixed, maybe deteriorated since we last visited. But so have other aspects. Restaurant disappointing; unnecessarily complex menu, over ambitious & over priced but food disappointing/mediocre. Staff friendly but gave impression of constant sell of add-ons. Breakfast the worst Iv had in 30+ hotels over the last 18 months. Dreary, uninteresting unappetising food with extra charge item available also not an inspiring...
