Celebrating the cabin's 100th anniversary. This Rustic Remote cabin was built in 1925 and is located in the Sequoia National Forest. It is 10.7 miles (approx 23 minutes) from the Visitor Center in Grant Grove Village in Kings Canyon Nat'l Park and less than 20 miles (approx 30 minutes or less traveling on Generals Hwy through the park) to Sequoia Nat'l Park and Shermans Tree. Host does not charge extra fees (such as Cleaning, Service Etc,,,) Located off of main road No long dirt driveways to go down. Please be sure to park in your designated parking area. There will be a marker displaying Stansfield Cabin. This clean and cozy cabin sleeps 2. Window unit AIR CONDITIONER IN BEDROOM! Amenities include Wi-Fi, Smart TV, formal dining room, basic stocked kitchen, deck Apartment size refrigerator, Micro-wave and smaller size oven. Cabin has breakfast nook, living area and restroom. This cabin is surrounded by giant evergreen trees. If allergies are a problem, this cabin may not be for you. Cabin is Easy Self-Check In. Single night stays welcome as well as 2, 3, 4, & 5 night stays. In case of snow, snow shovels are provided for guest to use. NO smoking of any kind anywhere on this property in the cabin or outside. Please check out the photos which are an accurate reflection of the cabin and amenities. If you do not like rustic, this cabin may not be for you. Make The Stansfield Cabin your family tradition.

Such a cool property and home! Cabin is decorated beautifully, amenities were plentiful. Fans were provided, and air conditioning in the bedroom. It was perfect. Cabin was very clean and cozy. Property owners were wonderful to work with. Hope to return some day!

If you want an 'authentic cabin experience near the park, this is your destination. It is rustic, 1910 cabin with original flooring, clawfoot tub, and wildlife coming through the yard. We saw doe with 2 fawns, a myriad of California quail.

Overnight stay while visiting Kings Canyon and Sequoia Natā€™l Parks

After a long day exploring Kingā€™s Canyon, we drove out of the park to our lodging. An important point to appreciate is that the roads out of these parks are often twisty and turning through the foothills and can be a bit challenging! The cottage is across from what is probably the only eating establishment in this small hamlet, which is convenient if you have no groceries of your own! This is a rustic cottage - embrace the charm of sloping floors and unique features that accompany such places!

The cozy cottage was full of nic nacks. The house could use some help we felt the back of the house could fall off the house. A huge slope from front to back that was weird.

It smelled like old Christmas decorations. And it was not a subtle place to stay in my opinion. We walked in and decided we couldnā€™t stay because of the conditions. It is cool but should be a museum not a rental. We asked if there was anything else and were told no. We had to get another place to stay. Would not recommend.

Nice place, lack of respect for guest privacy

Nice cabin close to the park entrance. Guests should know that the owner, according to his own txt, ā€œchecks his properties every day.ā€ He feels entitled to enter whenever he wants - and it happened with us. The heater in the dining area wasnā€™t working. The owner texted saying he would stop by to check it while we were out, and I agreed. When we returned, he had turned on some lights and left the TV on. He said he leaves the TV on so ā€œguests will know it worksā€. The next day he entered again, this time without giving any notice. After I complained, he explained that he was replacing the heater and had turned on the lights and took out the trash ā€œfor me.ā€ I don't know if he does this with every guest, but as a mom traveling alone with her daughter, it felt uncomfortable, intrusive, and frankly a bit arrogant.The heater in the bedroom does not work, which made the nights quite cold. In addition, the owner asks guests to sign a separate "reservation agreement" on top of standard VRBO policies.When I first arrived, I parked on the side of the house instead of in front. The owner sent me a dry message saying I was mistaken and had not followed the instructions in the email ā€” although there was no mention of parking in it. If there are guests in the other cabins, their cars will be parked next to the main window of this cabin.The cabin is nice but the lack of respect for guest privacy was a serious downside. (After leaving, I made a video showing how organized we left it)

Deceiving nice place

Saw the photos and thought it seemed like a nice little overnight stay for a day trip to Sequoia National Park, after our evening at the Fresno PBR event. We decided to go to the cabin prior to the event. The drive to Fresno was a little long. So was not ideal for that leg of our trip. The cabin itself was great; rustic and comfy. Decorated/furnished nicely and honestly looked better in person than in the photos. I recommend the host updates the photos for that reason. The shower is a little wonky but itā€™s a 100 year old cabin, at least there was a shower! The water took a little while to turn warm, middle of march cold temps - expected but a little longer than actually expected. There is a lodge/bar literally right across the street with good burgers and fries, local beer, sassy but funny lady serving. The drive to Sequoia National Park was windy but not too long, probably 30 ish minutes - we had a lot of mist. Overall a good location for SNP with very rustic but comfy character. Would absolutely stay again.

Great Stay

We struggled with the lock box, but everything after that was amazing! The hosts were very responsive when we were struggling with the lock box. The cabin is so cozy and has so much character. Highly recommend if youā€™re wanting to enjoy Sequoia National Park and star gaze!

Fabulous location minutes from Sequoia and Kings Canyon NP entrance.A historic cabin with all of the amenities including a kitchen with the basic supply needs. Across the street is a historic lodge (bar and grill. Would gladly stay again but for much longer!

Pleasantly Amazed

I arrived prepared to rough it knowing that Iā€™m in the woods and I did not expect the amenities and comforts that were available. I had the feeling of communing with nature while simultaneously having all the comforts of home. The property manager communicated everything I needed to know to access the property and maximize the experience. As a retired Marine living on a fixed income, I thought the price of the stay was reasonable. The best endorsement I can think of is ā€œI intend to stay here again.ā€

This is a charming property, and the owners were extremely communicative and helpful! It is relatively close to Kings Canyon/Sequoia National Parks at a great price point. The living room, dining room and bedroom are very comfortable. It is a 100 year old cabin, and the clawfoot tub and kitchen show their age. That being said, I found this to be a very comfortable stay, and the owners have thought of everything to provide a rich experience for guests who stay here ... from basic kitchen supplies to an array of board games to an introductory video on the two local Parks. I suggest arriving before dark as the road to the cabin is on a very winding road requiring slow driving and some rather tight turns. All in all, a wonderful experience!!!

Quirky and fun CABIN!

We loved this little space! I guess I really didnā€™t pay attention to the listing when I booked it but itā€™s definitely a real cabin experience. Quirky yet quaint interior. There is a random, little cafe/pub type place literally across that road that had amazing little burgers and a super friendly staff. We are happy we stayed!
