  • Looking for a beautiful, private, lakefront cabin with walkout basement to relax in the beautiful outdoors of N Wisconsin? We built and have enjoyed our cabin, on beautiful Leader Lake, since 1975 - and now we would like to share it with you! Located in Wascott, WI, just 45 minutes from Duluth, MN and a two and a half hour drive from the twin cities, our cabin is the perfect place for families or a couples retreat, to enjoy your year round vacation.

You couldn’t ask for anything better the host alway answered all your questions very happy

Let us check in as soon as we arrived had our key ready for us place was super clean the dock was super nice by the water the paddle boat and boogie board and kayaks where super fun and great hosts

If you’re looking for a place to make unforgettable family memories, this is it.The owners have poured so much love, thoughtfulness, and care into this cabin, and it shows in every detail. Not only is the cabin beautiful and perfectly situated on the water, but they go above and beyond to create a truly special experience for their guests.We were welcomed with thoughtful surprises throughout our stay. But the highlight for our kids was the owners hidden treasure hunt! He buried coins around the property, and the kids spent hours using the metal detector to search for them. It was such a unique and memorable touch that had everyone smiling.Our family spent nearly a week enjoying everything the property had to offer—paddle boarding, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, and simply relaxing by the lake. The setting is peaceful, beautiful, and the perfect place to disconnect from the busy world and reconnect with family.This trip created memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you, for sharing your little piece of paradise and for creating a place that feels so much more than just a vacation rental. We can’t wait to come back!

We absolutely loved our Labor Day weekend at this cabin. This was a perfect, quiet getaway for ourselves & two young kids. The view is beautiful, lake is quiet & cabin had everything we needed & more. We were also near restaurants, coffee shop & convenience stores. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful quiet lake. Easy access to waterfront. The only issues I had were having trouble finding the key box outside and having to walk downstairs to the bathroom. We enjoyed our stay and would go back.

Family friendly getaway

We had a great trip staying at this cabin. Caught fish off the dock, went on kayak trips around the lake, hung out on the beach and many more activities. It was the perfect place for our family of 5.

Perfect family getaway

Clean, well-appointed cabin on a beautiful lake. We enjoyed swimming on the sandy beach. We caught some nice fish right off the dock and we enjoyed the kayaks, paddleboat, and paddleboards.

2 lakes and Loons!

It was the perfect place for old camp cabin mates to share time together. Amenities were great. One bathroom so you need to plan a little… location was so great!!

Fun and beautiful!

This nice cabin is set back in a very quiet, relaxing, and peaceful community of cabins. The host was very kind and even gave recommendations on things to do near by in the surrounding area. Loons were present which was enjoyed by all. We spent so much time down in the water, a few of us got a little more sun than we could handle- sign of a lot of fun and relaxing on the lake!

Beautiful Lake and canin

We truly enjoyed our stay! It was perfect for our family of six. The lake was great for swimming and fishing and we really enjoyed using the paddle boards and kayaks. The cabin was very cozy and clean. We also enjoyed our campfires! Perfect little get away! What a blessing, thanks!

Awesome!

Recently stayed here for a week. Was everything that was advertised. Awesome location, well kept up and maintained. Out of the way enough to be peaceful, but close enough to essentials if you do wander out. Highly recommended.

Weekend getaway

Beautiful cabin at the lake with great water access. Highly recommended. BBQ, fishing, large fire pit, and different types of water activities (canoes, paddle boats) are all available at this cabin. We had a great stay!!

Quiet and Serene

Everything was very neat and clean. Everything was well taken care of. The property offered more amenities than we could use. We definitely hope to return to Leader Lake and this property again.

Still Wonderful!

This was our second year staying at Leader Lake and everything is just as we remember- outstanding! (see our reivew July 2024). We spent nearly all our time in and on the lake. It is great for swimming and paddling and very clean (so is the cabin). Everything is private and tranquil: the cabin, the yard and lakefront. The area is very friendly and enjoyable. A true Northwoods lake and a very positive experience had by three generations. Great hosts! Highly recommend

For a Great Family Vacation, Follow the Leader (lake)

The Cabin was everything and more than was promised, there were more accessories included with the cabin than we had time in the week to use. The Setup was great and provided us with all the comforts we could have asked for. We will definitely try this Cabin again!!

Perfect in Every Way!

Could not have asked for a better spot for our Northwoods getaway. Cabin was well-equipped and very comfortable/spacious for our group of 6. The lakefront area with private dock and beach perfect...firm sand bottom and crystal clear. Watercraft furnished by hosts provided endless hours of fun as we explored the lake. Daily eagle sightings and resident loon made the stay complete! Ideal location for any season. We hope to be able to go back again!

4th of July Stay

Great property. We were fortunate to get such great lake access on Fourth of July weekend. The cabin and property you were exactly as stated in the listing. Clean, home and kitchen, conveniences, and greet water toys that we use every one of them. And, my son caught a 20+ inch walleye off a rowboat.

We had a great time at the lake house. The kids couldn't get enough of the lake and all the activities that came with it. The cabin was very clean. The kitchen was stocked with all the utensils and gadgets you would need to cook. They also had fishing poles and sand toys to use. Pack some DVDs. They had about a dozen to choose from there. The Wi-Fi can be hit or miss. But we were outside too much to notice.

Peaceful getaway

This cabin was a beautiful relaxing getaway for our family. We had 4 kids with us from ages 12-2 and all enjoyed the lake in different ways. Our 2 year old loved playing in the sand and the older kids loved to swim and use the many kayaks, canoes and paddleboat. The lake is a great size that we could keep an eye on them but still plenty of room to explore. Very peaceful and neighbors on the lake were very friendly. The cabin is very clean and Tim is a wonderful host and very responsive on questions. The cabin itself has a beautiful story and we loved staying there!

Great Cabin, Great Lake

My family had a great time at this cabin. Cabin was clean and had space for everyone to be comfortable. A very quiet lake, there are many different boats to use on the water, 2 person kayak was excellent with our 5 yr old. My kids caught a lot of fish right off the dock. Owner was very responsive with questions that came up. Overall a great vacation. A few more bathroom towel hooks and some empty cabinet space in the kitchen would be a nice convenience.

Wonderful!

What an excellent vacation! Were looking for a quiet, sandy lake with a gradual depth for our 5 year old to enjoy, but one where adults could enjoy swimming as well. We wanted to do a lot of kayaking, stand up paddle boarding too. This place is as described and we enjoyed it to the fullest. The lake is very clean, as is the cabin, which had everything we needed. We really enjoyed grilling and having dinner on the deck outside overlooking the lake and watching the bald eagle fly by. We normally pick a new cabin and lake every summer, but think this one will see us return next year. Highly recommend!
