If you are a prospective guest who is reading through my reviews, I would strongly encourage you to read any of the reviews left by my other guests. This one is definitely an outlier. Evan is making some false statements here and I feel I must set the record straight. Bear in mind that Evan had been granted a very low rate for his long extended stay during the COVD19 crisis, and I appreciated him giving us his business during this difficult time. He liked it here and wanted to continue this arrangement, but I chose to return to something closer to normal pricing, and this brought his stay to a conclusion. Now, as to the particulars of Evan's assertions, I will address them here one by one. Crime: Crime is up generally in every major metropolitan area in this Country, and Minneapolis is no exception. Though there has been some increase in crime here, it is not extreme and I would not consider this neighborhood to be unsafe. Attempted "Break-iin". There was no attempted break-in. There was a dispute between an intoxicated out-of-town teenager who was attending a New Year's Eve party nearby, and the tenants in the other side of the duplex where the B&B is located. The teen ran at the front door and damaged it before stumbling off. Police were called. I tracked down the teen. He apologized and paid for the damage. This is something that has never happened in all the years I have been here. That being said, it was by no means an attempted break-in and I do not see this as an indication of increased crime in the neighborhood. Mice: Over the decades, I have occasionally had mice get in during the Winter months, and I have experience with how to deal with that situation. This past Winter, we did have an unusual problem with mice getting in. I consulted with a professional exterminator and followed his guidance. At the end of the day, guests must cooperate by denying mice any kind of food source. This includes garbage. Since Evan has checked out, and the B&B has been thoroughly and professionally cleaned, there have been zero mouse sightings in the building. Basement Workshop: I do occasionally do work in the basement. Not every day. Not every week. Not even every month. Only occasionally. Some of that work is directly related to the building and some is not. Sirens: We are not on a road which leads directly to a hospital, but we are close to a one-way road that does pass by a hospital some miles to the East. It's a Westbound one-way. So, ambulances do not travel to the hospital on that street. That's not to say there are no sirens. This is a city and you may hear sirens from police, fire or ambulances as they pass through the neighborhood. I am saddened that Evan has chosen to conclude his stay in this manner. I wish him well and hope he has been able to locate suitable accommodations within his price range elsewhere.

You're not the first guests not to notice it. Unfortunately, I don't have any way of changing how the information regarding rates is displayed on the VRBO site. I'm sorry it was a surprise for you. Regarding you desire to have a BBQ on the deck, that would have been fine with me. I have a grill. I keep it in the garage. If you had informed me as to your desire to use it, I would have been happy to roll it out for you. The fact that I have a grill for guests to use and also the absence of a dishwasher, are pieces of information that are also included in the listing. I know there's a lot there and most people to go through it all. I feel bad that these three issues negatively impacted you experience.
