We chose this VRBO due to its close location to our daughter's wedding venue at The Blaisdell; 3 easily walkable blocks away. There are also several restaurants within walking distance which was very convenient. The large size gave my husband and I a wonderful, huge master bedroom with a very comfortable King bed, large closet, large screen tv, and private porch as well as our son, his fiance and daughter, and my sister-in-law plenty of space and privacy.
Due to our crazy schedule, we did not cook any meals there but the kitchen seemed very well appointed and appliances clean and up to date. The dining room would easily have accommodated our entire group. There were plenty of linens and towels for all of us and spares when needed.
Mike, the owner, lives in the other half when it is not rented and was very, very helpful in allowing us to back a wedding decor-filled trailer into one off street parking spot and luckily still had room off street for one car. We were greeted with fresh croissants from a local bakery, butter, and other grocery items that were left from previous visitors and still fresh. Our daughter was even able to have her make up and hair stylists do her trial at the apartment two days before the wedding as well as having room for both of us to have our hair styled on the wedding day as we did not have access to the venue until 9:00 am. Mike allowed us to store a box filled with fresh greenery in the basement to stay cooler, and use of the outdoor hose to rinse them off. The back deck was beautiful, covered, and huge giving us space to hang out and also put together floral arrangements.
The photos of this apartment are exactly as you will find it when you visit and truthfully, I think the VRBO is even better in person. Mike has updated the apartment beautifully while still retaining the original hardwood floors, wood trim, and charm. If we ever have need for lodging near downtown or uptown, we would definitely consider renting this or the smaller, opposite apartment in the future.
