Owner is extremely unresponsive. We encountered dirty, stained carpeting. Carpeting had not been vacuumed prior to our arrival. Area rugs were dirty, frayed and had holes. We lived with dirty carpets for our 7 day vacation. The pool was dirty, even though the owner told us it was clean. The outdoor furniture was ripped and damaged from the sun. One seat completely ripped and almost landed one of us on the ground. A closet door was off track and leaning into the closet. Several kitchen cabinet doors were hanging by only one hinge, which I fixed so they did not fall off as we would have been charged with damage. The garbage disposal was broken, two of the pieces were on the counter and there was a hand written note placed in the sink telling us to not use it. The note looked like it had been there for a while. There were ants on the counters and floor of the kitchen. Luckily there was a can of ant and roach spray in the pantry. Provided towels were thin, had holes and nothing matched. There were no hand towels or washcloths. We were told the WiFi was spotty. We had WiFi for a total of 1.5 days, the rest of our stay we had none. Perhaps we used to much data and we were shut out???? Owner told us it must be our phones. We had 2 iPhones and 2 Android phones. Could all 4 be the problem?? The master bedroom mattress had a board between the box spring and mattress in an attempt to make a worn out mattress “useable”. There was BLACK MOLD in the master shower. Several rooms had storm shutters that had not been opened giving those rooms a tomb like appearance, not the bright Florida sunshine people go on vacation to see. Each time the owner was contacted she had many “excuses” to offer but nothing to rectify any of our concerns. This was not a cheap, economy rental. When charging top dollar, renters expect a higher standard. We left the house in better shape than we found it. Still waiting for our cleaning deposit back. We were extremely disappointed.
