"After a wonderful one week stay at El Sol Hotel back in February 2025, we were very thankful to return to this lovely local hotel in Addis. Booking our trip to Madagascar meant we had to change flights in Addis and we figured: why not do a 2-day stopover in this Great city and visit some friends?
It felt really amazing to be back at El Sol, with the very dedicated team, all very kind people. It felt like returning home.

"Já é um hotel em decadência. Precisaria de uma reforma. Sem elevador (é penoso subir quando há falta de ar devido à altitude). Bom café da manhã (não há ovos). Quarto minúsculo. "My friend and I stumbled upon the Afropolitan while searching for relatively stable wi-fi in order to work. It was the best in the area, the beds were ridiculously comfortable and the food in the restaurant was delicious! The best thing about our stay, however, was the attentive and helpful owner. He gave us his personal phone number to direct taxis to the hotel. He even sent two members of his staff to help us when my friend got suddenly ill and had to go to hospital. "Passei uma noite em Adis Ababa, em trânsito para seguir para outro país e o Hotel foi um achado, pelo preço cobrado aliado ao conforto e a cordialidade da equipe. Mesmo com pouco tempo, foi nítida a preocupação do staff em atender nossas expectativas. O serviço de Transfer para o hotel funcionou perfeitamente. Já estavam nos esperando no aeroporto na hora marcada. O restaurante possui boas opções, a preço justo. Inclusive aceitam dólar, o que facilita para quando você não vai ficar na Etiópia...

"The staff are good at their job. From the airport to the hotel and back to the airport was a smooth transition. Clean rooms and they’ve got a nice lobby and it’s quite spacious. They welcome you with some tea and that’s a good gesture. Highly recommended for travelers. "
"Great modern hotel, fairly close to the airport. Lots of ATMs a few feet from the property, also lots of restaurants nearby. The onsite restaurant serves good food. Facilities were good, WiFi had good connection, and the bed was really comfy. The staff, especially those manning the front desk were incredibly helpful.
There’s no air conditioning in the rooms though, which wasn’t a problem when i stayed. Though it could be a problem during the summer? Dogs could also be heard barking at night....
