Carlton North and Princes Hill are charming suburbs, with leafy roads, cafes and grocers, and some great old-fashioned pubs.

The architecture is mostly Victorian cottages and terraces, and the area tends to attract professionals. The north end of Lygon Street is a little quieter, and you will find interesting shops with a local or village feel.
