"We checked ourselves in and left a couple of hours later (no staff seen). I hadn’t realised I’d booked a room with shared bathroom and the bathroom was on first floor and we were on the second - we only saw one shower and 2 toilets for all the shared rooms. There’s half carpet in the standalone toilet, which is gross. The rooms themselves are fine, a bit rough round the edges. I’m baffled at the positive reviews, it’s very basic and not good value - we chose to drive 2.5 hours home rather than...

"Absolutely love Tyr Craig Castle. Lovely friendly helpful staff, beautiful rooms with very comfy bed. Really enjoyed our evening meal with the most fabulous views over the sea. Food was superb and service spot on. Our breakfast was also great quality. We visited last year also and will definitely return, lovely relaxing stay - THANK YOU X"
"The room was spotless and white bed linen crisp and white. However the overall rating was let down by historic carpet stains in abundance throughout the property. The sash windows either need repairing or replacing and the glass was blown therefore affecting the view. Also one of the windows could not be closed and the others couldn't be opened. The coffee shop within the hotel served great coffee and iced coffee and staff were so nice.
