Welcome to our Architect's Eco-Bach – Lakeview and golfing green.

Lakeview Bach is a unique Architect’s holiday home which provides the complete freedom to enjoy indoor/outdoor entertaining spaces facing a beautiful lake, amongst an open green space.

This unique Bach is nestled next to a large sprawling green landscaped of an 18-hole golf course providing a relaxing and an entertaining setting as a holiday destination with the view of a picturesque tranquil lake right in front of the lounge and the mountains as a back drop behind. The Canadian migrating geese, swallows, sea gulls, ducks and Pukeko birds often visit here.

This location will also be a perfect spot for the aspiring golfers taking a vacation. The nearby local golf club "The DUNES" accepts Visitors and Casual Players and hire-out golf clubs and golf carts. The golf course and green was designed by the legendary Sir Bob Charles and open all year round.

The magnificent sun sets and sun rises seen here frequently are wonderful opportunities for any photographer wanting to capture that magic moment. The lake view is unobstructed, it’s clear and gentle rippling waters provides a great sense of calmness and a relaxing soothing effect. This is even more special when on a bright moon-lit night, with the moon reflecting on the lake’s surface.

This holiday home is a spacious modern 2-storey cedar clad house with an open plan main lounge on the ground floor next to a master bedroom (facing the lake) with an adjoining bathroom. There are 2 large covered timber decks/patio at the front and at the back of the house interconnecting to the main lounge for entertaining.

On the first floor, there is a second large lounge/family room for entertainment with a Billiard Pool table and lounge furniture.

In the day time we gravitate on the sheltered north deck and in the evening, we have our BBQ on the sheltered south western deck. We have designed a high independent wing wall specially to deflect the wind, so that you can enjoy the warm evening at the close of a daylight-saving summer day.

The ground floor’s main bath room has a specially designed slated timber deck shower floor with a full-size bathtub with unique slated timber floor.

The slated timber deck floor in the bathroom is fully waterproofed with ‘floor to ceiling’ white ceramic wall tiles. This floor design allows for the easy disposal of sand washed off from any sandy feet when coming back from a day at the beach or when taking a shower there are two shower positions, with a rain shower head from the ceiling as well.

There is also an outdoor shower area at the rear yard next to the outdoor clothes line.

There are 3 bedrooms on the first floor with an independent bathroom containing a large tiled shower cubicle with a glazed partition and another separate WC. The staircase is easy to climb and has extra wider steps for ease of movement.

Bedrooms:

There are 4 separate bedrooms which can sleep up to 10 people and are configured as follow:

1) 1 bedroom (master bedroom) with double bed on the ground level,
2) 1 bedroom with double bed on the first floor
3) 1 bedroom with 2 single beds on the first floor- can be converted to a double bed
4) 1 bedroom with 2 single beds and 2 bunk room beds on the first floor – sleeps 4.
5) On the first floor, which is lounge/family room, there is a convertible pulled down sofa bed/couch that can be converted into an additional double bed or to 2 single beds, if needed, to accommodate a further 2 more people. This will be an exception and will be negotiated and additional fees will apply.

The modern style kitchen is fully equipped with gas cooktops, a modern fridge with a continuous ice making facility with a chill filtered drinking water dispenser, a large dishwasher, microwave, waste master, electric digital self-cleaning wall oven.

The pull-out pantry, drawers and cupboards are well stocked with other kitchen appliances and a Nespresso coffee machine is available too. There are lots of board games and some DVD tapes and the Smart TV can access the TV programmes with also the Netflix and Prime Video channel are available to visitors.

There are tea, salt, sugar and flour in the pantry. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, toaster, electric kettle, sandwich maker, bread maker, platters, boards, coffee plungers, blenders, crockery, cutlery and crockery with drinking glasses, dish cloths and cleaning detergents. Please help yourselves and we appreciate that you will replace equivalent stock when you have used them.

There is a new Weber gas moveable BBQ that will take care of all of your BBQ needs and the BBQ tools are provided under the central kitchen table cabinet where all the board games are also located.

The beautiful one-piece central kitchen island bench top was milled specially for this house and was oiled with non-toxic wax polish that seals the timber and totally eco-friendly.

We designed this holiday house around the old farmhouse ‘kitchen table’ concept where we encourage conversation, chit-chats, observing the cooking, sharing the preparation of food, playing fun games and eating together on this very large kitchen island bench.

We have enjoyed so many wonderful evenings just being here and eating together in this space. There is also another smaller round table with dining chairs also available too.

The ceiling timber panels and all the floor timber flooring are also oiled with a non-toxic natural wax oil and is chemical free.

We have an electrically remote-control device for opening and closing the large window blinds in the main lounge to give us privacy at night and whenever needed.

In keeping with traditional camping holiday settings, an external washhouse (laundry cupboard) is located on the enclosed south western deck with a washing machine. There are 2 bicycles available for guests to use, stored in the understairs cupboard.

A free and fast high-speed fibre-optic internet WIFI is available to all guests for their digital connections. We have movies from Netflix and Prime Video channels.

All linen are provided. This includes bath towels, hand towels and beach towels and bed sheets and pillow slips. We will stock sufficient toilet rolls and kitchen rolls for your stay and there should be a small back up supply of hand wash and body wash available too.

Cleaning fees are NZ$280.00 per stay as additional charges for a standard rental is for up to 10 people for rental of the entire house . Any additional person beyond 10 people will have an additional charge per person per night.

Please note: We do not allow weddings or any other large gatherings to be held at the house and no tent or caravans or similar temporary accommodation is not permitted.
