Sugar Hill

Nice cabin for family get togethers. Easily accessible to area attractions. Downside is NO cell service. There is wi-fi, but no cell service. Our family trip was interrupted with family emergency. Couldn't enjoy our trip as much as we would've liked. The camel was a nice attraction for our nephew.

Cozy Cabin!

This cabin was a great place for us to stay. Plenty of space, handy kitchen. A bonus for us was the fact it was about 3 miles down the road from our family. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Family and Pet Friendly Home

We had three generations all staying together in this home on a family vacation. The location was secluded yet convenient to the hiking destinations we wanted to visit. Also, it’s just a short drive to Asheville, and there is a Walmart, Dollar General and gas station close by for those last minute items. The house was stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay!

Hillside getaway.

Our time spent at the cabin was great! We had seven staying in the spacious three bedroom and my brother had lots of room to park a 35’ motor home just down below the home. Everything we needed was there as promised and everyone loved the cabin and the huge wrap around porch deck.Set on a hillside in the surrounding trees, it was cozy and private. A real winner. Thank you Ray & Eva.

Peaceful Retreat

We loved our stay at Sugar Hill Cabins! The cabin was clean, spacious and well equipped with everything you should need! We especially loved the wrap around porch where the kids entertained themselves playing games and swinging on the porch swing. The highlight of every morning and evening was walking down the hill to feed Zuli, the camel! Our kids just loved her! Thank you so much for allowing us to enjoy your little piece of heaven!

Absolutely perfect cabin to stay in beautiful Marion, NC

The cabin was spacious and well outfitted with the needs you would expect to have in a home. The kitchen had nearly every utensil or cookware you would need to prepare meals. The downstairs had a spacious living room and dining room plus a sunroom and kitchen and a Master suite. The upstairs had two large bedrooms and a bathroom. The wrap-around porch facing the wooded area around the house was a special treat. We especially liked walking down the driveway to visit Zuli the Camel who I suspect is the most friendly camel on the earth. Altogether a great experience and I would come back and rent this home again in the future.

Beautiful Cabin!

This cabin is more beautiful than the pictures! It has brand new couches and each have a pull out bed. We really could have fit 3 families in it! They actually mean it when they say all you need is your tooth brush and clothes! They supply everything! We will definitely be back for snow! Our little ones said it was the best vacation ever! Great cabin away from home...

Five adults and two children (2year old and an 8 month old) found the home spacious and comfortable, beyond beautiful and peaceful. The porch was wonderful. Like all other reviews it did lack some kind of barrier that would provide some privacy from other’s sound-That did not bother us one bit😊. Zulli was a real treat that not just the kids enjoyed; but some of us adults as well. We all want one now! Would love to know the back story on her.

We Had A Blast

I must say we really enjoyed ourself. There was a leak problem in the up stairs bedroom that dripped into the master bedroom by the window but other than that the house was awesome & so was Zuli. The kids were floored when they saw we had a camel. I do wish we had a better view of the mountains but hey everything can't be perfect. Thanks for letting my family rent such a beautiful home.

Cabin in the woods!

This cabin is lovely and well taken care of. It really does have everything you need except your toothbrush and clothes. The bed on the main floor was wonderful - not soft, not hard, just right! The time we vacation in the Marion area we will reserve this cabin.

Great cabin in the woods

Stayed here for 9 days while visiting my granddaughter who lives in the next town. Very private so I didn't have to worry about my 2 dogs walking around. It has everything any one would want to cook with. Everyone loved walking down to see the camel and goats every day. We went to Ashville twice. To see the Biltmore Estate and shopping downtown. Also did the tour at Linville Caverns. It might have been nice to have a schedule for running the TV. It's totally different from what we have and was hard to find channels I wanted. Also it was not very private. Could hear everything from people upstairs and they could hear everything from downstairs. Other than that we loved the place. My husband kept saying I did a good job booking this place. We sat on the porch every day! We would book this place again.

A cozy, comfortable get away for Thanksgiving with family, in a beautiful setting! Highly recommend!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed this cozy get away, with all the amenities, including WiFi, flatscreen television, linens, and fully stocked kitchen! The dining room was big enough to accommodate ten, and the cooking area was large enough to prepare our full Thanksgiving meal! The setting is beautiful, with gravel drive winding by a picturesque barn, complete with friendly camel and goats nearby! The cabin is roomy, with three large bedrooms and two full baths. The living area is warm and cozy, and beds are comfortable! Nearby must see attractions include beautiful Lake Lure and amazing Chimney Rock, with numerous special cafes and restaurants! Black Mountain also has quaint shops and special eating spots! Also, we were far away from the crowds, enough to relax and enjoy nature, but a close enough drive to Asheville for dinner and shopping! The entire experience was just what our family needed as a total Thanksgiving experience! We would definitely do this again and highly recommend the cabin to others!

It was much better than we could have expected !!

We LOVED the cabin on Sugar Hill Rd. Very secluded, and was by far the CLEANEST rental we have ever been to. Everything needed for any type of cooking was there in the well stocked kitchen. There was a flat screen T. V. in the livingroom, and three huge bedrooms ( plus 2 large bathrooms) We would certainly rent this cabin again !

The house is lovely! Nestled in the woods, with a beautiful wrap-around porch!

There were two families on our trip, both with young children. The house was plenty big enough for everyone. I was impressed with how clean everything was as well. The kitchen was indeed well-stocked, with just about every gizmo you could possibly need. The porch was everyone’s favorite feature! The owners were very responsive. The house is loud, however. We could hear every step of those upstairs. We are used to noise though, with all our kids, and it didn’t bother us much. Water pressure was a little low for showers. But we absolutely had a wonderful time and the property was fantastic. Zuli was an interesting surprise!

Wonderful Property, Wonderful Owner!

We rented this beautiful property for Hurricane Florence Evacuation. The owner was so kind and helpful and the property was absolutely PERFECT. It rained much of the time and we spent a lot of time on the fabulous wrap around porch listening to the rain. Once it stopped raining, we were able to meet Zuli, the camel, and she was so sweet and lovable. We also made it to downtown Marian to buy supplies to take home to the coast. Everyone was so friendly and the town was wonderful. Thank you so much for being so flexible with us as we were stressed to the max when we arrived and calm when we left to return to the Coast. We can't wait to visit for an actual vacation and visit Chimney Rock and Lake Lure.

Perfect Family Getaway with so much privacy

Our family had a wonderful stay over the Labor Day weekend! The home is beautiful and very spacious!

Everyone enjoyed meeting and feeding carrots to Zuli. We cooked breakfast every morning in the well supplied kitchen. We enjoyed eating together and having family game nights around the large dining table. We had one issue with the AC but once reported Ray and Eva had a repairman there to fix it. We would love to stay again but hopefully during a time when the mosquitoes are not around. The wrap around porch with beautiful sitting areas would have been so nice to have enjoyed... but not worth the risk of all the mosquito bites! The owner can definitely not be faulted for outside insects in there natural habitat (they’ve been bad outside at our home as well). The cabin is immaculate and I agree with another reviewer it was one of the nicest and cleanest that we’ve stayed at. Thanks for allowing us to share your lovely cabin for our much too short vacation!

Great get away not too far from Asheville

The cabin is a really nice quiet get away that sits about an hour from Asheville downtown. If you’re big into the nightlife, it’s probably a bit far...but for our family it was perfect.

Great cabin! Very peaceful!

This has got to be one of the best VRBO rentals I've ever done. Ray and his mother were very kind and made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. The cabin is huge and had everything we needed from linens to kitchen items. It was far enough off of the road that it was very quiet and secluded but also right down the road from any stores or restaurants we wanted to visit. I will definitely be returning for another stay here!

Nestled in the Woods, but Close to What You Need.

This cabin is comfortable, roomy, open and has everything. It is located approximately 1 mile off a main country road, and is easily accessible. It provides seclusion as it is nestled in the woods, but is close to amenities such as Wal-Mart, restaurants, and gas. Given its location you may see wildlife at your back door, not to the mention the camel that lives along the road to the cabin. At night you can hear the crickets and birds, which will lull you to sleep. We had 5 adults and 1 child staying in the house, and had plenty of space for time together and apart. Being somewhat unfamiliar with the area, we greatly appreciated the assortment of pamphlets and magazines on attractions in the area. Recommend Black Mountain, NC for a day of shopping in unique shops that feature local items.

Relaxing getaway

Loved our visit to the cabin! Secluded in the woods, yet close to civilization. Very homey and comfortable. My favorite part is the huge wrap around porch. Plenty of room for the 7 children to run around!
