I arrived early in the Philippines and booked this unit for the previous night to ensure I could check in right away. Unfortunately, I was immediately met with a heavy cockroach infestation throughout the kitchen area.
I contacted the host right away, but it took several hours to receive a response. Due to the unsanitary conditions and strong, unpleasant odor, I could not stay in the unit and made alternative hotel arrangements.
When the host finally responded, they acknowledged the presence of cockroaches and stated the issue had been addressed. However, this raises the question of why the unit was not properly treated prior to my arrival. Despite their claim of regular pest control, the extent of the infestation—including cockroaches behind light switches—suggests a deeper, unresolved problem.
I had originally booked a 17-day stay and requested a partial refund, which was denied.
I would strongly advise others to avoid this property unless they are comfortable dealing with unpleasant odors and pest issues.
