  • Back by popular demand Soaring Eagle has returned to the Vacation Rental Program in luxurious and gated Smoky Mountain Retreat. Enjoy the convenience of a flat driveway for easy access to this lovely cabin. The bedrooms and bathrooms are split among the three levels offering a private retreat for all. The lower den includes a convenient kitchenette for a separate couple. The outdoor space includes two levels of covered and open decks, hot tub, fire-pit, and magnificent views from every level. (3500 ft. elevation). 5 flat screen HDTV TV’s and DVR, Wireless High-Speed Internet, Stone gas Fireplace, outside firepit. Full size Washer/Dryer, Dishwasher, Central Heat & Air, Covered & Uncovered Porches. Garage not available. Hot Tub.

    Main Floor: Living Room (gas fireplace), HD TV. Dining Room, Fully equipped Kitchen, keurig coffee maker, Master Bedroom with Queen size bed & full bath w/Jacuzzi tub, Laundry Room. Covered and uncovered porch with picnic table, grill, rockers, glider and chaise lounge.

    Upstairs: Large Bedroom with King size bed & full bath en suite, Sitting Area interior to bedroom with flat screen HD TV, loft with desk and couch.

    Downstairs: Executive Suite. 3rd bedroom with Queen size bed & full bath en suite, flat screen HD TV, Living Room with flat screen HD TV, gas stove, kitchen with microwave, bistro table & chairs, Covered Porch with rockers & chaise lounge. Small landscaped yard with firepit and Adirondack chairs. Game room with pool table, air hockey, darts, and ping pong table.

    3 Night Minimum Stay
    5 Night Minimum Stay for Holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year).

    January- December
    $285 nightly rate

    11% tax will be applied to rent
    Optional 6.5% Trip Insurance will be applied to rent.
    The Damage Protection of $50 is a required item that will be added to the reservation.

    $65 Reservation Fee
    $240 Cleaning Fee
    $100 Hot Tub Fee.

    Firewood Notice: Not all wood burning fireplaces will provide firewood at the property. We can have firewood delivered to the property per request.

    Tenants with motorcycles and trailers, please note:
    The Eagles nest subdivision does not permit motorcycles or trailers on the mountain. However, they can be left at our rental and sales center parking lot. For any questions or concerns please contact us.

The cabin is located so that its porches reveal the valley below providing a beautiful view from this mountain overlook. The cabin was clean, well appointed and ready for our move-in as promised. Staff at Smokey Mountain Retreat were friendly and fun. We will definitely be back.

We have also stayed there in October and May for the seasons. The home is comfortable and updated and feels like home when we’re there.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Every summer we rent a cabin in the Waynesville/Maggie Valley area. Sometimes the cabin falls short of expectations. This cabin - Soaring Eagle - was awesome! The views were breathtaking and the huge covered porch is the perfect way to enjoy it. There's plenty of space for 5 guests but more than that might be a little cramped if they're all adults. The furniture is comfortable and well maintained. The kitchen very well stocked! The upstairs king bed was super comfortable but the other 2 beds were not. All the appliances worked well. The hot tub is a nice touch as well. There's a fire pit and corn hole, which we had a lot of fun playing. There was a ton of dust that kept accumulating in the main floor bedroom for some reason so beware if you have allergies. The A/C doesn't cool evenly. The downstairs is freezing, the middle floor (main) is comfortable but the upstairs is warm. However, with a window open at night with the table fan on, it was very comfortable. This is not a deal breaker for this lovely cabin. Its one of few cabins we would return to (in hopes they upgrade the mattresses or we'll bring a an extra pad). The rental company was very responsive and polite. Its obvious they care, unlike other local rental companies. The gated community is gorgeous and the roads are very well maintained. Its close to everything so even though you're up high, it doesn't take long to get anywhere. We absolutely loved our stay!

A great cabin, but some issues with hottub, fees, & pest control

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Soaring Eagle is a great cabin, fairly high on the mountain, with a great view. The interior is quite nice, with comfortable beds, TVs with satellite in every room, great internet, and mostly very clean. There were a number of dead insects, including roaches, on the floors, though. It seems they may have recently sprayed pesticides but didn’t clean up after. Not a big deal, but it’s something you’d think would be taken care of, especially considering most everything else in the cabin is so well done. The exterior decks are great, with multiple levels, and a number of seating options. The fire pit is a very nice thing to have. And there is a corn hole set and another outside game available for guest use in the garage. However the hot tub, for which a considerable fee is included in the rental price, was luke warm, seemed to have been over chlorinated, and had a cover that we could only partially remove—just one person could barely fit in—despite taking considerable time, and using tools found on the property. Add to that the other administrative fees that are charged, and the overall experience ends up less good than it could or should be. Overall I suppose I would recommend Soaring Eagle. But the hot tub issues/fees, pest management, and other fees are things to consider.

Soaring Eagle Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: After a very challenging journey to Maggie Valley we were involved in a traffic accident and our vehicle was towed undriveable. We had to Uber from Asheville to the cabin and got there late. Having no food we called the non-emergency phone number for Smokey Mountain Realty. This was for information on the restaurant that may deliver and approval to give gate code number. The gentleman that answered said that Papa Johns Pizza was the only delivery in our area and gave the offer to bring food if they would not. We did get a pizza delivered. But the next day being Sunday the car rental company did not open until 1:00pm and only one enterprise was open on Sunday. Once again had to get uber from Asheville and might I note very expensive. Maggie Valley and Waynesville does not offer Uber service at this time. After getting a vehicle back to the cabin and picking up my wife who just had foot surgery. We were able to get some food for our stay. The cabin was very beautiful and sadly it was distracting with no vehicle being over 600 miles from home. Everything at the cabin was very nicely decorated and we enjoyed the cabin. Wonderful place to enjoy a family or group vacation. Each floor allows you to have privacy with bedroom and bathroom. As it looked like things were settling down we had decided that it was best to leave early and start our journey back home. We decided to load the rental car inside the garage because of it raining. After loading this very small vehicle with things I had in my full size wreaked vehicle from the body shop. When we came out to leave the driveway was now blocked by a white car right in the center and we are now unable to leave. Unable to drive around because only enough room for one vehicle. I blew the horn and no one answered for approximately 15-30 minutes. I called the non-emergency number and gentleman said he was five minutes out on property and on his way. After a timely wait exceeding five minutes, I called again!

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: As a regular visitor to Eagles Nest properties, I give this one a thumbs down. It is cluttered and needs a good deep cleaning. Two of the three beds are very uncomfortable. Better value for the price is available in the development but wouldn't stay in this one again.

The vacation home location offered convenience to Waynesville (Downtown area) and Engle's Grocery store. Nice home with gas fireplace, well appointed kitchen, very clean, and lots of outside patio area to relax, cook, and enjoy the changing views. Home offers 3 levels with space for multiple family members; including access to outside patio from each level. Main level is reached by stairs both inside and outside.
