We really enjoyed our stay at Smokey Hideaway. As other reviews mention, the kitchen is very well stocked (coffee maker, crockpot, variety of pots and pans). The living room is very comfortable, with a nice 50" smart TV anchoring the space. We enjoyed movie nights after busy days of hiking. Solid internet and wi-fi as well.
The front porch offers spectacular views and 4 great rocking chairs, and the fenced in fire pit area is great.
Overall, we found this to be a very comfortable base from which to explore the surrounding area. It's in a great location, within an easy drive of Maggie Valley, Lake Junaluska, Waynesville, the parkway, Cherokee and more. As others have noted, it's got a great remote feel, but is easy to access. The road up to the house is a bit steep, but manageable by any kind of car in the Summer - would recommend AWD in winter just in case.
This is a cozy, quiet and peaceful cabin that is perfect for a mountain getaway.
