Great location

We had a great time in Lyon - the apartment is well located close to restaurants, bars, sights and shopping. The transport system is great and close by, and very easy to use. The apartment was very comfortable and well appointed, and was very spacious. There was lots to see and do and Evelyn was very helpful throughout our stay.

Spacious and beautiful- perfect location

So much space and very well equipped with everything we could need(including fans and a hairdryer!). The location was perfect for walking and exploring vieux Lyon- we had a fabulous time. The bedroom with 2 single beds faced the busy road, so it did get loud at night for the kids with the windows open, but the back room with the queen sized bed was very quiet. We had such a great stay!

Great apartment in a great city

Let me start with the host, Evelyne. This was our first time in Lyon and she was the perfect host. She met us in front of the apartment and carefully walked us around inside to make sure we knew how to operate everything. After we settled in she supported us with city guide information so that we saw more and wandered less. The apartment is one of the best we have ever experienced. Fully loaded. The things we look for when traveling in France: a big, comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen and a modern bathroom were all there. The windows in the sitting area looks down onto rue Lanterne, a fun street for people-watching and, considering how close it is to a big, busy plaza, a quiet street. We couldn’t have asked for a better location. Metro, epicierie, boulangerie, museums, restaurants (you have to try a “bouchon”) were all within a 5 minute walk. And, lastly, Lyon! What a great city. Food, outrageously good,. Things to do everywhere. It is easy to get around in. If you like to shop, especially for men’s clothes, this is better than Paris. And just gorgeous to walk around in. The section where the apartment is located, le Presquile, is between the two rivers so if you like to walk this is your place. We recommend 8 rue Lanterne with the highest of confidence.

Awesome Stay in Lyon!

We had the best stay in Lyon, ever. The pictures don't reflect the beauty, warmth, spaciousness and cuteness of this apartment! Plus, the most incredible host, Evelyn, who replied to every email we sent her and answered all our questions before and during our trip. She welcomed us by waiting in the apartment for our arrival, then showing us around. The location was perfect. Walking distance to EVERYTHING! A boulangerie across the street, coffee shop at the corner, a sportsbar on the next block - AND, it was not noisy, stores and restaurants everywhere! We all agreed when we return to Lyon, we would call up Evelyn and stay at her place again. We felt like we were locals and living at home.

Absolutely Lovely!

Simply lovely! It is difficult to describe in words how wonderful our time was in Lyon, staying at the apartment on Rue Lantern. A map does not provide justice demonstrating the apartments location to nearly EVERYTHING in town. A ten-minute walk (or less) in any direction provides you access to the food markets, old town, fabulous restaurants, shopping districts the symphony, multiple theaters and museums, and the metro. Within seconds of the apartment, there are 2 grocery stores, a wine shop, a wonderful bakery and 3 or 4 cafes! The apartment was immaculate and well appointed with every amenity you would need for a long stay (we were there for nearly 3 weeks). We spent our days exploring Lyon, and our evenings sipping wonderful wine, noshing on excellent cheese and olives, and sipping cappuccinos and sharing French ice cream – the apartment was stocked with everything you would expect in your own kitchen. The apartment windows provided excellent opportunities to people watch the activities of the quaint street below, and was very quiet in the evenings. My wife and I traveled with our 3-year-old daughter, but the home was very spacious, and could have easily accommodated our friends and their children as well. Evelyn went out of her way to provide the best experience possible, demonstrating the meaning of true hospitality. She greeted us at the apartment upon our arrival, providing details of the apartment, and nearby resources to make our stay even more enjoyable. She checked in with a day after our arrival to make sure we had everything that we needed and expected, and contacted a taxi service on our behalf on our way out of town. In more than once instance she went out of her way to help accommodate our 3-week stay. We will absolutely return to this apartment, and have referred our friends and family as well! Thank you, Evelyn this trip was a truly memorable experience!

Great apartment with the perfect location to explore Lyon

This was by the best experience I've ever had renting an apartment and I knew this would be my experience as soon as I started corresponding with Evelyne. I planned this trip 3 months in advance and Evelyne is most responsive to all correspondances. Evelyne is the perfect host and she spent time going through the apartment making sure we didn't have any questions. In regards to the apartment, it was better than the pictures and was spacious for the 5 of us traveling together. The location is perfect to explore Lyon and you are near markets, boutiques and bakeries. If you're planning a visit to Lyon, I would highly recommend renting this apartment!

Experienced Home Away Users Comments: Lacks for 2 guests. Not enough blankets(bed covering) or pillows for cold weather. Only one blanket(bed covering) and pillow for the bed. Not enough towels. Only 1 body towel and 1 hand towel per person. If staying longer than a couple days you will need more. Lacked in kitchen supplies. Kitchen items dirty. TV very difficult to work. No directions regarding the operation. Apartment not completely clean. No guides or instructions on how to work appliances. I would NOT recommend this property to others. We rented the property for 3 bedrooms. When we arrived at the property, the owner only allowed us to use 1 bedroom. We rented/Paid for 3 bedrooms--The owner only allowed us to use 1 bedroom. Location good.

wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful stay in Lyon at Evelyn's apartment. It was spacious and clean, perfect for our family of four. Evelyn was there to greet us, and accommodated our need to leave luggage while they cleaned. The apartment is well located in central district.

Amazing apartment centrally located in a beautiful city

My family and I have always rented an apartment when visiting France. This is by far the BEST apartment we have ever rented in terms of location, affordability, convenience, and comfort. The apartment was very clean and exactly as described. We were a party of 4 - me, my husband, and 2 teenage boys - and we had more than enough room to spread out. The apartment is spacious and ideally set up with the 2 bedrooms on opposite sides of the apartment, instead of being right next to each other. There is an additional small room adjacent to the master bedroom with a sofa bed that can accommodate a fifth person. If you don't have a fifth person traveling with you, it's a perfect hideaway for reading, watching TV, or just getting away from the kids! Wi-Fi worked perfectly! Lots of storage space! The only drawback to the apartment is that there is only one bathroom, which was challenging at times with 4 people; however, the shower/sink are separate from the toilet so this definitely helped. Not a show stopper at all - I would not hesitate to rent this apartment again. There is a boulangerie with the most amazing baguettes and pastries right across the street and a supermarket half a block away. Restaurants, shopping, museums, sightseeing, and access to public transportation are all within easy walking distance. Finally and most importantly, Evelyne is the most lovely and gracious host! She is accessible, communicative, and helpful. After spending 5 days in Lyon and staying at La Suite Lanterne, we don't see any reason to ever go back to Paris again! Lyon is a beautiful city rich in history with delicious food and friendly people. We look forward to returning to Lyon and will definitely stay at La Suite Lanterne again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

What a wonderful apartment in a perfect location !!!!

There is so much to say about this great apartment and great experience, I am not sure where to start. I guess it all starts with meeting Evelyn and her on going availability during our stay, she was the perfect host. As for the apartment, it was everything that we hoped and that was advertised. I think for someone coming to any location around the world, you wonder if the place is "as good as the pictures" ? This was, and in some ways, even better. Perfect for two couples or a couple and two children/kids. The location in Lyon was very good and central in the area of town most visitors would want. I could not recommend this place any higher, please rent here when you can !

Great location. Beautifully appointed space. Made our stay spectacular. Host Evelyne is lovely.

We had a fantastic stay at this flat. The layout is perfect for sharing. My husband and I were in one bedroom and our friend and her goddaughter shared the other bedroom. It's like having two wings in the apt. The decor and appointments are well thought out - perfect. Being Located near to cafes, food shopping, boutiques and boulangeries as well as the museum and Rue Merciere, make it so very convenient!!! We loved our stay so much we would choose this apt again. Host Evelyne checks in regularly and even went the extra mile by leaving us a gift of a praluline for breakfast our first morning. She is gracious and very very accommodating. We loved it!!!

INCREDIBLY stylish, inviting and central apartment

I was in town for an industry event and wanted a place that allowed me and my team (4 total) to feel as part of a community, instead of going the hotel route. Evelyne (the owner) has carefully designed this beautiful, clean, functional and stylish apartment into a place that will be a home away from home. Her close attention to detail and her eagerness to make sure you have everything in place is remarkable. Wifi NEVER disappointed, so it allowed my team to work with ease. The building is very quiet, so it was easy to feel rested. The beds were VERY COMFORTABLE. The apartment is conveniently located in a beautiful and walkable part of Lyon, surrounded by shopping, restaurants, museums, historical points of interest, public transportation (including a TGV station just 3 KM away), and one of two rivers that run through the city. A premium bakery is just across the street from the flat and a great comic book shop next door to the building. Great as either a romantic getaway, a small family vacation or people passing through for business. I would certainly come back to stay here!!! highly recommend it.

Nous avons passés un excellent séjour dans cet appartement entre amis.

Cet appartement est très bien situé au centre de Lyon, à proximité immédiate de tous les commerces et centres d'intérêt. Très propre et correspond tout à fait au descriptif de l'annonce.
