Villa/holiday flat

"Ul Fuguraa" was one of the first houses to be built in Figino in the 19th century. Two criteria were decisive when choosing the location at that time. It had to be close to the lifeline road and away from the lake, which was constantly bursting its banks. With the regulation of the lake's water level, the criteria for site planning also changed. A view of Lake Lugano with a private park-like garden and direct access to the lake are the most valuable features of a private residence today.

It is therefore not surprising that these property features are among the most sought-after criteria when choosing a holiday home.

The 3.5 room duplex flat with its own entrance is located on the ground floor of the villa. The villa itself serves as a holiday home for the owner's family. During the booking period, the villa is unoccupied and you can enjoy your privacy.

The flat faces directly onto the garden and lake side. Access is from the private car park via a stone external staircase. You should therefore be a little physically fit.
The flat offers enough space (approx. 84 m2) for four people and a pleasant room height of 2.20 m to 3.50 m, partly with exposed beams. It has underfloor heating in the living room, dining room and kitchen, radiators in the other rooms. Swisscom WLAN. Floor tiles, fully equipped kitchen (no microwave), large dining and living room, one bedroom with shower/WC/window, library/bedroom, separate shower/WC and a laundry room.

Garden/relaxing/dining
The park-like, well-tended garden is surrounded by a garden wall and natural hedges. This allows you to enjoy privacy. In addition to the generous sunbathing areas, the trees provide plenty of shade to relax in. If you want to eat outside, a Weber gas barbecue is available for cooking and grilling. The garden seating area with a large dining table and solid granite benches is the ideal complement.

Swimming/water sports/sunbathing/eating
You can walk through the garden (approx. three minutes) to the private swimming bay. A wide granite staircase provides easy access to the lake. We recommend bathing shoes. As the bottom of the lake slopes gently down to the lake side, an adult can refresh themselves standing near the steps up to the centre of their body, depending on the water level of the lake. For further refreshment, there is also a shower with a drinking water connection. An outside staircase takes you to the boathouse's sun terrace. There you can enjoy the unique view of Lake Lugano. Sunshades, sun loungers and a weatherproof table and chairs are at your disposal. Another practical feature is the wind-protected dining area right next to the boathouse with a large round, light-coloured granite table and plenty of chairs. Do you prefer to lie in the shade out of the wind? The spot under the fig tree is ideal for this.

The villa with the 3.5 room duplex flat is nestled among other villas on the shores of Lake Lugano. To the south-west is Villa Rosa, which is occupied all year round by the owner alone. To the north are two villas, which are occupied by the owners and their family members during the summer months. As well as the Contessa holiday residence.

Figino itself lies approx. 284 metres above sea level and, with its approx. 80 inhabitants, belongs to the municipality of Lugano in the canton of Ticino. The natural border with Italy runs along the centre of Lake Lugano, which is actually called Ceresio.
Around 63% of the lake belongs to Switzerland. With its pleasant water temperatures averaging 23°C in summer, it is one of the most popular lakes for swimming and water sports in Switzerland.

The garden is maintained by an external gardener. We endeavour to coordinate the work according to the occupancy schedule. The same applies to tradesmen. We will inform you in advance if garden maintenance or a tradesman's job is required. We have no influence on the management of the neighbouring villas and holiday residences.

Liability for damage to property
Is the responsibility of the tenant (personal liability insurance), in particular damage of all kinds to the rental property/inventory/appliances/installations etc. caused by pets or persons of all ages. Rental deposit must be paid on arrival in cash or cashless with TWINT. Repayment: no damages on the day of departure in cash or cashless with TWINT.
