Fantastic stay! Great property!

We were so pleased with this apartment! A big thank you to Manuel for being readily available to answer questions we had. The decor is gorgeous. The garden area is great for relaxing outdoors. We found the beds very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed for the few meals we cooked. The location is an easy walk to great restaurants and cafes, shopping, grocery, wine…. Don’t miss walking the wall! in summary, charming and comfortable choice!

Luxury in Lucca

Absolutely Stunning! When the door opens up from the street you walk into a lush secret garden and a well furnished home. The home is right in the middle of the shopping , restaurants, and sights! We looked forward to wine happy hour everyday in the yard surrounded by flowers and fruit trees. The beds were comfortable and kitchen supplied with everything you need to entertain. I will for sure book this again when visiting Tuscany.

Magical Lucca

Exceptional apartment! Absolutely stunning from top to bottom and inside and out. The apartment is luxurious in every way. Would not hesitate to come back. Wonderful location - quiet, but only a very short walk to restaurants and all amenities. Manuel was a fantastic host and made every detail seamless. Thank you!

Fabulous apartment in a great location

The property is absolutely stunning both inside and in the garden. One of the best places we have stayed in. Close to all the shops and restaurants and within walking distance of the train station The aircon was very welcome and loved the attention to detail by the owner.

Peaceful retreat!

The rental was both beautiful and comfortable. The kitchen had everything a cook would need. The bedroom was spacious and the master bath was huge and ultra modern. We were there in the winter and couldn’t enjoy the beautiful gardens. We will be back!

The perfect location to stay in Lucca!

This apartment is just beautiful inside and out. The apartment is well stocked in the kitchen, laundry and bath. The sitting areas inside and out and just stunning. This is a little oasis in the city. It is quiet at night and the courtyard area is so tranquil with it's fountain, lemon trees, and gardens. There are 2 bikes available to be used. The location is so convenient to everything...shops, mini markets, restaurants...just a 5 minute walk to everything you need. We loved it and would go back in a heartbeat!

Absolutely fabulous!

La Casina is a beautiful, luxury apartment set over two floors, with the added benefit of a stunning, private garden within the city walls of Lucca. The apartment itself was immaculate, beautifully furnished and equipped with quality equipment and everything you could ever need for a short or a longer stay. We stayed for only four nights, but could want for nothing and would happily visit again for a longer period of time. The apartment is very spacious with exquisite accessories, candles, chandeliers, books and ornaments. The garden was an added bonus. We could not believe that we had exclusive use of it. It was so peaceful and we loved enjoying a leisurely breakfast and freshly made coffee at the sheltered table before a day of wandering around the lovely city of Lucca. In the evening, it was fabulous to be able to sit outside in the late sunshine, or by candlelight later on in the evening, enjoying a glass (or two!) of wine, listening to the birdsong and the distant hum of the city. The lemon trees, the pomegranate tree and the flowers and greenery of the garden just added to the scents, the sounds and the whole ambiance of this lovely apartment. The location of the apartment is perfect - a residential area, but right in the heart of the city, with restaurants, shops and bars within a very short walk. Mrs Sonia is a lovely lady who would do everything she can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. There is a really helpful book of information which she has put together, including everything you could wish to know about the apartment, the city and things to do in the surrounding area, including restaurants, bars, shopping, excursions, places to visit either nearby or further afield, transport, taxis, etc. We would return in a heartbeat. Cool, comfortable, close to everything

Beautiful and convenient, inside the walls of Lucca. We used the provided bikes every day to get around and to circle around on the wall—so much fun. We parked outside the walls near Porto San Donato, and it was a quick walk (even quicker bike ride) to feed the parking meter every day. Great restaurants are close by, and Ms. Sonia and colleagues are super helpful. Washer and drying racks were great, and cooking in was easy; breakfast on the patio every day. The master shower and bathtub are amazing (although second shower and bathroom are teeny tiny) and AC was a blessing. Thanks for a wonderful stay in your beautiful city.

A week in Lucca

La Casina is a beautiful apartment with a lovely garden. The Appartment is decorated and fitted to a very high standard and and well equipped if you want to eat in, however we took advantage of the many good restaurants nearby.The bikes provided are a real bonus and we used them extensively to explore the city. We really enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation on returning in the future

Phantastic place to stay

It was La Casina that made the choice where to go in Tuscany this year - and what phantastic choice! The Appt is a real beauty inside the city incl private garten. Key handover with Sonia was easy, thanks for detailed information upfront about parking. We really loved the comfortable bed and the rainforest shower in the bathroom, sitting outside in the evening or just taking the bikes for a tour around the city. Watching the Football Worldcup in Russia we much appreciated the fast and stable WiFi. All in all, La Casina is the perfect spot when spending some days in Lucca, which is a splendid town to encounter. We hope to be back soon..

An idyllic retreat perfectly located

La Casina was even better than we had hoped: an exquisitely furnished, completely updated and thoroughly comfortable interior embedded in a spacious, private and equally well-designed courtyard garden, with two bicycles and a very convenient location to boot. After a month of touring, we needed a luxurious retreat, and Mrs. Sonia provided it in full. Lucca is a wonderful city in and of itself, but also offers easy access to a diverse and interesting surrounding region. We found all of Mrs. Sonia’s recommendations for restaurants, activities and day trips to be right on the mark. Count us as completely satisfied visitors who left ready to return.

heaven on earth

my wife Judith & myself stayed for 8 nights at la casina,it was heaven,the apartment was perfect a wonderful kitchen,amazing bathroom,a wonderful bed.the 2 bikes were a godsend but everything is within walking distance.mrs Sonia met us at the apartment and was a excellent host again my wife will be using the apartment again next year and hopefully for many years to come.thank you mrs Sonia for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful

La Casina is an absolutely beautiful space in the heart of Lucca. The apartment and garden space are excellent and it is obvious that a huge amount of thought has gone into every detail. Perfection in Lucca

The two-story carriage house is beautifully restored and the décor quite lovely. It was extremely functional for the two of us. The incredible, peaceful green space that accompanied the rental was most welcome for morning coffee and evening wine and/or dinner. Our greeter and the gardener were most kind and the information booklet provided in the rental a great resource. This was the first time we used VRBO for an international stay and the process worked very well and the information provided by Mrs. Sonia in advance of our arrival was quite helpful. We obtained a 30-day parking pass from the local agency at Luccaport (we assume this is the name of the agency or at least the building) and it was no problem to walk to the rental from the Citadella parking area. Lucca is a fun and interesting location in northern Tuscany with many wonderful places to dine and shop. The historic carriage house had all the amenities we required.

An oasis of peace and tranquility.

When we arrived at the address in the center of Lucca through the narrow streets, through a big old door, you enter the beautiful large landscaped courtyard. Where the beautiful villa La Casina. A villa by the owners with taste and passion renovated and furnished. Equipped with all modern conveniences and where we quickly at home felt. A wonderful place to be. From this place, is on foot or by bike, the city of Lucca to explore. The walled Lucca, with its history, old buildings, sights, and lovely terraces, many beautiful shops and great food. From Lucca you can with the public transport links within walking distance, visit all the surrounding cities. After a day you come back and enjoy in an oasis of tranquility in the garden and the villa La Casina. A place to felt at home, enjoy your vacation and next vacation a time to come back. Jan.

Lucca and La Dolce Vita

We loved this fabulously appointed two-story apartment INSIDE THE WALLS of charming and historic Lucca. The apartment really feels more like a villa because there are no adjoining apartments and you have private access to a beautifully manicured garden with statuary, lemon trees, hydrangeas and rose trellises. The apartment is on a quiet street near the piazzas, osterias, Carrefour grocery stores and main bus station with transport to Pisa, Firenze and other Tuscan towns. The train station is nearby as well just outside the city walls. If you are looking for a piece of paradise in Lucca, this is your place. Staying inside the walls is key to an authentic visit to Lucca. Check in with Sonia was smooth and she made many perfect suggestions for making our visit more enjoyable. The owner, Stefano, also touched base with us to make sure we were comfortable. Their courtesies were very much appreciated. The apartment includes the best wifi and a/c we've experienced in Italy! Not a detail was overlooked in this apartment. It was recently renovated so everything is new and in perfect working order. The kitchen appliances are all stainless and there is a five-burner gas stove, microwave oven, regular oven, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer. The kitchen overlooks one of the two outdoor dining areas, so it is easy to have your morning coffee al fresco. The comfortable seating area on the patio is where we enjoyed vino and caprese after our full-days of touring. There are plenty of osterias nearby where we enjoyed delicious dinners, but there was nowhere as charming as the apartment garden itself. There is also a dining table inside the apartment as well. The living room and dining room down stairs have tasteful furnishings and are very comfortable for relaxing. We stay in a lot of VRBO properties throughout the US, Canada and Europe and this one is at the top of our list of favorites. There is a full bathroom downstairs with the washer/dryer inside. The master suite is upstairs and it has a mounted flatscreen TV with SkyTV and fireplace. The master bath has a soaking bathtub as well as a shower. We stayed five days in this oasis and were sad to leave. We used Lucca as our home base for side trips to Cinque Terre and Pisa. Lucca gives you a taste of hospitable Italy without the massive tour groups, franchise fast food restaurants, and trinket booths. This apartment truly provides la dolce vita! Grazie!
