"I was very impressed with the Queen's Head. Nice clean room in a great location in Higher Buxton. Housekeeping promptly every day. First-rate full English breakfast included.
My only complaint is that the room was rather small. There was no space to have an open suitcase, so I had to stuff it in a closet. That was a little inconvenient. Of course, I realize there is nothing they can do about that. It is an old building, and the room size is what it is."
"Wonderful and relaxing stay at The George Hayfield. We had the family room which was clean and comfortable for a Mum, Dad and x2 teenage girls. Evening meal and breakfast was perfect, good value for money. The two owners (and staff) very friendly and attentive. We’ll be back for sure. "

"The room is well renovated and everything works, mainly the shower. The breakfast is excelent, but expensive. There are some work in progress on the square in front of the reception, with the street interrupted, so the taxis and ubers sometimes don’t come to the right place. But it is a good location anyway to walk to the nice city centre of the (former) “steel city”, already converted to pedestrian streets. There was a fire alarm once in an ungodly hour, with everybody using the stairs to go out. It was not clear if someone in a given room made some smoke or if it was a failure on the programmed weekly fire exercise."
