"The hotel was out in the countryside with excellent views over the moors. It was very clean and well cared for. Car parking was good. The room size, bed size, etc was great. One small problem - the room lighting was not very bright during the night time. The food was excellent and the staff were great. It was also a great place for walkers with great access to the countryside. I would recommend it."

"We stayed for one night as a stopover on the way North and were very happy that we picked this Inn. The room was quite basic but perfectly adequate for our needs and in line with the price point. We had an evening meal in the bar area which was very good with generous portions and we were served by a lovely young lady who was very friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was nothing short of excellent with good quality ingredients, perfectly prepared."

"Quick check in, we asked for a room at the back, we were given room 8. Nice room, comfy bed, pillows a little flat. Lovely shower room with waterfall shower, nice toiletries. It was a very hot day when we checked in, so the room of course was hot, we opened the windows. Had our meal in the hotel, we shared a ploughman's platter with a couple of extra sides which was very nice. Also bought a bottle of wine. We sat outside after the meal to look at the lovely view. We'd brought an extra fan...

"Friendly staff, room was value for money. A little disappointed that the restaurant was only serving same food as bar, especially as booked for a birthday. Bar staff very customer orientated and super friendly, made as fuss of hubby for his birthday."

"On arrival after a long day's hiking, I was told I'd been upgraded and was shown to a fantastic cottage at the side of the hotel. A beautiful place with a large garden and a fantastic view over the dales."

"On arrival could have done with better signage as to where to park as we ended up parking at Forbidden Corner. Also not easy to find Reception and when we did find there was no-one there for 10 mins. Room nice, dressing gown and slippers nice touch. Had evening meal in the bar which was ok and staff were attentive. Meals on the Sunday finished at 5 and bar closed which was inconvenient. We were informed no staff on site again until Wed. We couldn’t boil kettle Mon morning as electric went off...
