The Space:
This bright, modern gem is waiting for you to discover it! Natural light floods into the second-story hideaway through skylights and over-sized picture windows while contemporary, inviting interiors come by way of local architecture and design firms Architectural Artisans and Zimmer-Design.

These gleaming spaces are a delight for the senses. All your needs have been thoughtfully considered from blackout curtains to eco-friendly toiletries, white noise machines and surfaces perfect for working on your laptop. We aim to keep you comfortable when you’re staying Upstairs! Take a moment to enjoy a cup of small-batch coffee while you kick your feet up and browse through the art and design periodicals available in your spaces.

The location is terrific — you can walk to the most desired spots in town and are in the heart of it all, but the property is tucked away off of the street making it a delightfully quiet and private spot. The interior design is thoughtful and beautiful — every bit as lovely as the photos and more. The hosts have thought of everything, from terrific recommendations that only the most knowledgeable locals could deliver as well as fantastic amenities. We were also pleasantly surprised to find that the kitchen offered even more than we expected, including a mini fridge and electric kettle for making coffee or tea in the morning. I cannot recommend this property highly enough!"

Guest Access:
The apartment has a smart lock keypad for self check-in with a unique access code that last only the duration of guests' stays for safety and peace of mind.

The courtyard between apartments is also secure, and has a keypad entrance through the carport.

All access codes are sent 15 minutes before your scheduled arrival time.

The Neighborhood:
The NuLu and Butchertown neighborhoods are THE happening spots in Louisville. We are walking distance to downtown museums, Slugger field, waterfront park, the pedestrian bridge, the skate park, and a plethora of the trendiest shops and restaurants. The list of dining options is expansive and varied. You will find everything from pastries at Butchertown Bakery on Main Street to a decadent 3-course meal at MeeshMeesh. There are intriguing shops and galleries on Market Street and scattered throughout the neighborhood. The free trolley picks up passengers a block away and Ubers and cabs can be called at all hours. Our favorite thing about this neighborhood is the warm neighbors, business owners, and shop keepers that call the neighborhood home.

Getting Around:
The building's address is 827 E Market, but you'll access the apartments through the rear carport off Billy Goat Strut Alley. Look for the black building with 827 numerals and Upstairs signage, about halfway down the alley from either S Campbell or S Shelby Streets, 2 doors down from West Sixth Brewing.

Other Things to Note:
While we don't have onsite parking, there is plenty of parking in the NuLu neighborhood. Free street parking is available on Market or Main St around our building, and there's a paid overnight parking lot directly behind the carport with discounts for patrons of the NuLu Marketplace businesses (which we highly recommend!). The daily max in the paid lot is $17.

Want to start your trip early or sleep in on your last morning? We’re happy to accommodate an early check-in or late checkout if arranged in advance! Our standard check-in time is 4:00pm, and our checkout time is 10:00am – we charge 10% of the nightly rate per hour (with a minimum of $20/hour) to adjust our cleaners’ schedules and arrange this service.

Our stay was lovely. The bed was comfy and shower was super hot. Surprisingly airy for a studio and very conveniently located. A paid parking lot is right across the alley or free street parking around the corner. It had all we needed and we would definitely stay again!

The place was perfect size for 2 people. The location was amazing. We had a great time in the Nulu area. Great bars and restaurants! I would highly recommend this apartment and the whole Nulu experience! And Matt was a pleasure to deal with for booking.

I enjoyed my stay at this small&cozy little studio. Location is great. It’s in walking distance to variety of restaurants and hang out spots. I do recommend bring ear plugs for at night because the bed is right next to ac unit. Other than that, enjoyed everything about this place.

My wife and I stayed in this second story studio unit over a long weekend. It had neat modern. Look to it. We enjoyed the secure private access to our unit, and the Nulu Marketplace next door to the bnb was the perfect place to stop each day as it was 50 feet from the back door. We love that the mini split A/C kept the unit cool all weekend long, and the parking lot behind the bnb generally had an available parking space to keep our vehicle. It’s only blocks away from whiskey row. I would recommend this unit to someone looking for a place to lay there head at night and wants to be close to downtown Louisville.
