Unfortunately, there were a number of downsides to our stay. Many restaurants and bars were closed for renovations, which limited our dining options. The app for reservations is frustrating—you can make reservations, but you cannot cancel them through the app. We had to go to the concierge in person. To make matters worse, when we switched to the steakhouse, our Italian restaurant reservation wasn’t canceled correctly, and we were charged a $30 fee that the staff refused to remove.
We also experienced no running water in our room for about an hour, and the staff’s response was simply, “we’re looking into it.” On top of that, the painted concrete floor in our room peeled constantly, sticking to our feet, and although someone was sent to look at it, nothing was fixed. We had to wear sandals inside the room.
At checkout, the manager did nothing to resolve these issues or remove the incorrect $30 fee.
The biggest disappointment was that this resort is not truly “all-inclusive.” Many things come with extra charges: the steakhouse was $48 per person, chef specials cost extra, quality wine and top-shelf liquor were additional, and the regular drinks were mediocre at best with poor mixers.
Other issues included flies (especially in the heat), and when it rained, our boat trip was canceled. Getting a refund was a hassle—we had to go to another property twice because the staff didn’t know how to process it the first time.
Overall:
Pretty property/ but this is not an all-inclusive.
