Thoughtfully designed as two completely separate private living spaces, The Drift offers the experience of having your own private boutique hotel by the beach. While arranged across two levels, the upper residence and lower guest suite are not connected by an interior staircase, the lower suite is accessed exclusively through its own private exterior entrance. You’ll enjoy exclusive access to both spaces, making it perfect for families, couples traveling together, or anyone who appreciates a little extra privacy. The upper residence features two luxurious king suites centered around an ocean-view living and dining area, chef’s kitchen, and spa-inspired bathroom. The separate lower guest suite offers a third bedroom, second living room, full kitchen, ensuite bathroom, and a private patio with six-person outdoor dining and a Weber BBQ.

From your living room, you might spot dolphins at play or watch golden Pacific sunsets over the water. Here, the beaches are calmer and more peaceful than the busy heart of downtown Manhattan Beach yet you’re only minutes from LAX, Venice, Santa Monica, and Hermosa Beach.

Layout

• You’ll have exclusive use of the entire property during your stay.
• The home consists of two completely separate private living spaces.
• The upper residence includes the main living area, kitchen, two king bedrooms, and bathroom.
• The lower guest suite has its own private exterior entrance and includes a queen bedroom, living room, full kitchen, bathroom, and private patio.
• There is no interior staircase connecting the two spaces, the lower suite is accessed from outside.

1. Should you wish to bring a pet, please request authorization (for number and type of pet(s)) before booking. Our pet fee of $150 (per pet) is due upon booking.
2. Early check-in or late check-out may be available if requested at least 24 hours in advance for a fee of $75 per hour.

The below policies are in place to safeguard the experience of our guests and neighbors, and to protect the property.

1. Max Occupancy: The property shall not be used by more than the number of adults and children listed in your reservation (up to an approved maximum of 4). [$200 fee for violation]

2. Min Age: Renter must be at least 21 years of age. Guests under the minimum age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Proof of age may be required.

3. Quiet Hours: Noise audible outside the property is prohibited between 10pm to 7am (as per the Manhattan Beach Noise Ordinance). The property is monitored for excess noise during this time. [After a first warning is given, a second noise alert will result in a fee of $300. A third noise alert will result in a $1000 fee and termination of your stay]

4. No Smoking: No smoking is permitted inside the property. [$1000 fee for smoking in these areas]

5. Pets not permitted, except for bonafide service animals (emotional support animas not allowed) . Should you wish to add a service animal to the reservation, please let us know.

6. Parties, events and commercial photography: Prohibited unless authorized by the host before your reservation begins. [$1000 fee for unauthorized parties or events and termination of your stay]

7. Candles and cooking elements: Charcoal grills, candles (or any other cooking/heat/flame element) brought onsite are prohibited due to fire risk. [$300 fee for violation]

8. Early Check-In and Late Check-Out: Please vacate the property on time so that our cleaners can prepare for the next guests within a tight time window. Early check-in or late check-out may be available for a fee if authorized at least 24 hours in advance (as above). [$300 fee for unauthorized late check-out for the first hour (past the 15-min grace period), after which the full daily rate will be charged and/or guests will be removed from the property]

9. Damage: Renter is liable for any damage to the property or its contents that they may cause. This includes the replacement cost of permanently stained sheets or towels, and a $50 fee for replacement of a lost gate remote.

10. Excess Cleaning: Should the property be left in an unusually poor condition, an additional cleaning fee of up to $500 (or the actual cost of cleaning services) will apply.

11. Good Neighbor Policy: Guests shall not engage in illegal or disruptive activity, and will abide by all applicable parking restrictions and limitations.

For security purposes, the primary guest may be asked to provide a government-issued ID prior to receiving check-in instructions.

Security Cameras and Noise Monitors
The Ring Camera (located near the front door) is for guest safety and record only video, not sound.

A Minuit device inside the home monitors noise levels, temperature and motion to prevent safety issues and excess noise. Noise is only monitored through decibel levels (to notify guests and the host if it gets too loud), and not sound.
