This unique Mermaid themed suite has 2 beds, and 1 full bathroom. Downstairs, you'll find spacious living quarters with a queen-sized bed and living room that includes dining room seating. Venture up the spiral staircase to the loft to find the 2nd bedroom nook (bed is queen sized). Additionally, there are lovely private trails and creeks on the property for you to explore the lush land. We're a short distance from public hikes, nature reserves and Topanga town, only 2 minutes down the road.
This artistic space features hand drawn fantasy murals and a colorfully tiled shower and bath from the original owners of this historic Topanga property. A generous downstairs living/sleeping room is topped off by a gold spiral staircase which leads up to a small extra loft bedroom. Enjoy the A/C unit located in the loft on hot summer days. There is a mini fridge and kitchenette, featuring a microwave, toaster oven, hot water kettle and a Keurig coffee maker in the hallway. This area is private. It is not shared. Just outside is a table and chair set for taking in the stunning mountain view and soaking up the sun.
WARNING the entrance corridor to the Mermaid Suite is an artistic rendering of a deep sea mermaid’s lair. Do not be alarmed- the main room is through the door to the left. Please see photos so you understand the entry way which is separate from the unique suite. It’s a great place to make coffee but it’s not meant to relax in.
We have a brand new wireless router with extremely fast wireless Internet access at 85mb per sec. We also have a new, very reliable tankless hot water heater that never runs out of hot water for the bath/shower.
You will be nestled in a 13 acre mountain village with other cottages, forests and mountain views. You’d never know you were anywhere near a city! This suite is attached to the main house and 2 other units, yet has its own private entrance.

Visiting this property is a very unique experience, some describe it as “glamorous camping”. No extensive photo taking, NO PARTIES, NO LOUD MUSIC, quiet time after 9pm, Dogs are welcome for a $18 fee per pet, per night. Cats are not okay for their own safety and allergy restrictions. Dogs are not permitted to be left unattended during your stay. If it causes a disturbance, a $25 fine will be implemented. $40 fee for loud music or excessive noise.

DISCLAIMER: This is quite different from staying in an ordinary hotel. We are really in NATURE here - these are older cottages hand-built by artists in the forest. They are very rustic! It's like living in a mountain village, with other cottages nearby. While we work very hard to keep our places pristine and spotless - if anyone in your party will faint if they see a bug, lizard or little frog inside, some dust or a spider web - then this probably isn't the place for you. Please be very careful booking cottages for someone else - like your parents just arriving from another continent - they might prefer something more conventional.
Some folks describe our places as a luxurious form of camping. We make our cottages very comfortable - they have all the basics - electricity - wifi - most have kitchens, bath or shower and comfy clean beds. But they are not like a hotel with perfect walls and a sterile atmosphere. Please look at all the pictures and read all the reviews. We can't offer refunds just because we don't meet the standards of a normal hotel. Most people are charmed by this idyllic and bohemian lifestyle - but it's not for everyone.

FILM AND PHOTOS SHOOTS: This is an amazing property for photography, and film, with 13 acres of rustic cottages, oak forests and sculpted streams. But please note we have special and quite reasonable rates for filming, in addition to the normal rental charges. Commercial and student film rates are the same.
Please do not book without prior agreements. Let us know ahead of time so we can work out the details. Commercial or Student filming is not permitted without permission.

Guest access:
You do NOT need to meet us upon arrival. Simply follow the detailed directions to the cottage or room and make yourself at home, anytime after 3pm. Staff is available on site if you need anything. Be sure to find your itinerary that is emailed to you when you made the reservation for detailed instructions and directions.
Other things to note:
Cell phones may not work here, but we have very strong WIFI - with no password needed. Making calls via WIFI calling works while on the property, if needed. No parties, loud music, or additional guests beyond reservation limit. 9pm quiet time:)
