Não vale o preço.
Um hotel velho que recebeu um "tapa" para parecer renovado, mas ainda é velho com cheiro e móveis velhos. Nosso quarto tinha umas poeiras grudadas no teto, mas tirando isso a limpeza do quarto em si era bem ok. Roupa de cama e travesseiros eram bons. De qualquer forma não vale o preço, pagamos pela localização, única coisa que de fato é excelente. Fizemos tudo em Santa Monica e Venice Beach a pé. Um detalhe: no anúncio dizia estacionamento disponível, o que entendemos que seria oferecido pelo hotel, mas não é. Eles tem vallet e é pago, $38 por noite com taxas. Isso não é mencionado em nenhuma parte do anúncio. Questionei o atendente do hotel e o mesmo disse: Disponível não é grátis. Sendo assim, ao lado tem um estacionamento público pago que custou $27 por noite com taxas. Deixamos lá, nem tanto pelo valor que ficou parecido mas porque não gostei do tratamento.

The staff was very nice, hotel was pretty clean. My only complaint is that it was very loud there. I woke up at 5am from people above me stomping around for a half hour. It was loud outside. A lot of construction and banging going on. Did not sleep very well here.

This was our fourth or fifth stay at Carmel Hotel. Great location, close to LAX, friendly staff. While building is older, rooms have been recently renovated and updated. Would definitely stay again.

Friendly, convenient and clean. Older property (no bathroom fan, small room, thin walls/windows) and significant street noise at night. There was a non-optional daily fee that was described as being for the coffee and water bottles in the room. We enjoyed our stay but I would likely look into other options if returning to Santa Monica for more than a couple of nights.

The hotel itself was dilapidated, plastic covering some of the doorways. Very noisy place. I would not recommend it.

Great location but the noise in our room was unbearable- you could hear people walking above you clearly like they were coming through the roof and someone was banging up there all night- street noise was really bad too - the windows were not insulated at all - not sure if they were full but request an inside room if possible

It was ok and some what like the pictures. There was a literal fuse box in our room with patches around it and when I went to shower, there was a dent on the floor and every time I wanted to move around I couldn’t cause there was nothing supporting the bottom. Also, the rooms are not sound proof at all, I was up all night cause I kept hearing people walking around and loud music from the club. The service was good, its just the overall condition of the room.

The hotel is in a great location! Very convenient! The hotel itself is under renovation. There is a bar next door which closed at around 3 am…so not a great sleep. The room is comfortable.

This hotel is for location ONLY. It’s older and outdated. Rooms are sooo tiny! The carpet in the halls are old and smell. The staircase is old and fragile. No fridge in room. The shower doesn’t stay at one temperature it gets really hot and practically burns you then goes back to cooler. All the furniture inside the room is old and broken down. Bed is sunken in. Sure it’s the cheaper hotel in the area but save your money spend that extra $50-$75 for the nicer hotel. Would not recommend nor return.

Great location close to Santa Monica pier/ Venice Beach access as well as local restaurants/bars/ shopping. Hotel has an old school look and feel/charm, and rooms were modern and clean. Staff were friendly. Definitely some noise overnight heard from nearby bars, etc but to be expected based on the central "downtown" location.

This hotel has been somewhat updated. Although the bathrooms have not, the bathroom fan is horribly loud, the air conditioner is horribly loud, and there is excessive nightlife in the area to the point of the staff of a security guard on the weekend in the lobby with 2x4” barricading the front door. One of the restaurants that they are still handing out discount vouchers for is completely closed. The other restaurant is more of a bar/lounge than a restaurant and it’s only open in the evenings. So they attached restaurants are useless. Elevators are very slow in the morning and the staff is not very helpful with any questions we had. They seemed more interested in talking to Mike themselves or whatever they were doing on their cell phones.

It was a lovely place to stay for a night while exploring the Santa Monica area. Very close the Santa Monica Pier and walkable distance from many more shops and restaurants. Staff was great and very friendly.

the Hotel although old was fine, however i paid for a room with a king size bed and due to a room change because of faulty plumbing,” i was placed in a room with a Queen size bed. when i enquired if the room was rate was changed i was told that it was still at the Kjng size rate and would not be reimbursed. Although, a minor issue i did not apprecite the attitude of the night desk attendant and the fact that she would not reimburse this Bed point.
