Walking into this house, I got the feeling you would get if you thought you had rented a room at a nice hotel/resort and pulled up to a rundown motel. Except a rundown motel at least has the beds made-up for you and window coverings. I've rented large homes in the same area (same price-range) that were MUCH nicer, updated, and had more ammenities (Internet, gas BBQ, gas fire pit, pool table etc). This cabin is super funky and outdated, plywood "finish-work", stained carpet, narrow stairs with a 5" gap between the stairs and wall (our 3 year-old misstepped and his leg fell through the gap, we could literally see his leg dangling through the stairwell from the living room as he cried out), exposed screws in the railings, nails instead of towel racks in the bathrooms, and let's not forget the barbwire fence (literally) in the backyard. There is mouse poison under the beds. In the kids room there was a large cardboard patch over the window, and the foosball/air hockey tables are not full-size, they are the cheap mini versions from Walmart. The walls in this house are almost completely barren, save for a few sparse decorations/pictures (feels barrack--like). The listing states 4,000 square feet, but that must include the basement/mudroom area? Definitely not an area that anyone would spend any time, save to remove wet/dirty clothes. I gave two stars for the well-stocked kitchen, woodburning fireplace, and Darlene the property manager was very responsive. However, this property should be renting for half of what they're charging (at least that way expectations are set much lower). Would not consider renting again, ever.
